1 X WR51X10053 DEFROST HEATER AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY REPAIR PART FOR GE, AMANA, HOTPOINT, KENMORE AND MORE

My GE fridge/freezer started to warm up, pulled the back of the freezer out to discover the thing totally frozen up. Checked fitment and placed an order for this (there are a number of variants, take note of what you buy because they all look similar). Taking the back of the freezer panel out notwithstanding, this is 2 push-on spade connectors and 2 screws to fit. Installed this, plugged the power in and immediately it began to glow. By the time it arrived, as you can see (only 3 days!) the freezer had iced up again and it took a couple cycles to completely defrost but after 3 weeks I have no issues, the freezer is again holding -5 and the fridge (runs off cold air circulated from the freezer) holds temp at 35.

Worked Perfect! Fixed a fridge that frosted over and stopped functioning. Save your $1500 and check this failure-prone part out, first. Easy install. You have to remove the back panel and defrost your freezer anyway, and this will be right there at the bottom of the coils. Easy fix.

works perfect. great price even with account at Appliance Parts Depot, was cheaper and basicaly the same part! Universal for many fridges, mine is a hot point (GE) definitely looking for more free fridges on the side of the street!

Worked perfect. Repair guy quoted me 150 bucks. I decided that I needed my money more than he did. The only hard part for me is that my shoulders are wider than the freezer box and I had to bend in ways that I haven't done since that Kamasutra class in that Ashram in the 70s.

Item works as it should

Replaced this defrost heater on the lower part of my freezer and it works splendidly. I actually ordered another for the upper portion.

this part is shorter in length than the original part, but seems to be working as installed toward the left side of the coil.

works right! hubby put it in himself!
