Clean up your act
I was putting together my first pedal board...WHAT A MESS! Wires, wires, and, more wires...Until I found these. What a revelation! Everything is much cleaner, much more professional looking, less "confusing", and, using these gave me room to add another pedal. They're built to last and are definitely the closest fitting couplers out there.

good tone but tighter fit than expected
my Digitech pedals are connected via these little guys. if you have a pedal in the chain that has a footswitch that requires a stereo cable beware. had some issues and still seeking a solution. on the bright side.... absolutely not tone change through the pedal chain with these and they look great.

Very Flimsy
I got these couplers because the were the lowest profile and were a name brand. However, they are very flimsy and cheaply mailed and have failed every time I have taken them out of the house, and I am very gentle on my equipment. Now I will toss the lot and get something else.

Tidy, yes, but surprisingly easy to break
These are the smallest-profile connectors I've ever seen, which is a big plus. They look really slick and they can, in theory, help you build a very compact pedal board with minimal clutter. But...The first problem is that having two pedals - even two pedals in identical chassis from the same manufacturer - sit at exactly the same height and angle is extremely improbable. I've seen it happen exactly once, and even that didn't end well. (See below.) It is surprising how many pedals' jacks are not exactly parallel to the pedalboard/ stage/ floor/ whatever. If the sides of the chassis are angled at all, the jacks probably angle up a couple of degrees as well. Just enough to ensure that you will wear on the connector - or worse, the pedal - as you stomp on and off. That's really no fault of this product, however. This is: although to look at them you'd assume they were basically indestructible chunks of metal, they're actually quite fragile. Trying to work a pedal off a strip of Velcro, I must have flexed one slightly, and now it's completely dead. There must have been a bad solder joint inside. I got exactly one week out of it. It would be hard to trust a replacement, and every time I introduce a different pedal it's a new drama, so... back to those ugly cables.

Very needed
A very useful space saver on my pedal board, so I can place my pedals tightly together and have room for more...

Useful regardless
Don't work for what i intended them for (connecting side by side 2 identical JamMan Express looper pedals from.. Digitech), but still useful around the studio for quickly connecting pedals in experimentating mood.

Look great. Great size. Poor sound quality.
I know it's just a connector BUT like all Hardwire products they add a hard edge to the low end and make the high end narrow and tight!

I don't see the problem
I bought these hesitantly because the previous reviewer gave them a single star. But I've used them on two different pedalboards for about 6 months and I can't understand his gripe at all. They *are* the closest spacing of any 1/4 inch pedalboard connectors I've used - a big plus if you're squeezing pedals into limited space.Like any of the other "straight through" adapters, the jacks on both pedals must be *exactly* the same height. This isn't necessarily true, even for similar-looking pedals from the same manufacturer. You have to set the actual pedals side by side on a flat surface and check for yourself. If there's any difference at all, go with a cable or one of the offset adapters like the "On Stage PC305 Angled Pedal To Pedal Coupler".
