Uncle Sam & Doll Man: The first made of the Freedom Fighters.
Mattel started a subscription service in mid 2012. These figures could only be bought from Mattel's special collector website "Mattycollector." The slot for November was Uncle Sam (with Doll Man). Uncle Sam & Doll Man are characters from a DC Comics and are usually part of a team known as The Freedom Fighters. The team was first created in the 1940s and they have been around in various forms since then. The look Mattel seems to be working on would either be the 40s or late 70s/early 80s.On to the review of the toy iteself. You get:1) Dollman: He is a small "pack in" accessory sort of figure. This character could shrink in the comics so the collector gets him as a bonus figure in "small form." I felt the detail could be a little better, but he isn't bad. You will probably need some sort of putty if you want to actual stand him up because he lacks any articulation and he doesn't have a stand.2) Uncle Sam: This is the main character in the package. There have been complaints about his white paint. It is more of a greyish white. Mattel feels that this sort of white looks more "real" or "weathered" and I agree. So be warned, if you wanted bright white . . . it's not. If you already have the DCUC Joker figure, you have the basis for the Uncle Sam figure. They took that figure, changed some minor details around the tie area, painted it differently, and gave him a different head. I have read complaints that Uncle Sam's legs don't move forward enough . . . but I am pleased with the figure.

Uncle Sam, since 1940
2 figures for one price! OK so one is tiny. The figure looks good. Patriotic figure & a great figure to own if you're a collector of action figures or a comic history buff. Uncle Sam been around since 1940. And how many Uncle Sam figures can you recall. Compare to Batman or Superman figures.... New 52, Arkham Knight, Arkham Asylum, Sm/Bm, Dcuc, Reactivated, Alex Ross, Kingdom Come, 1st appearance...basically every series that comes out you find BM & SM.

Freedom Fighters!
Overall great figure. The paint and sculpt are well done, especially Uncle Sam's facial expression! The Doll Man figure is big enough to be noticed when displaying, but you'll have to be creative because there's no articulation on the small figure for posing. Hope to find Phantom Lady next, to work on the classic Freedom Fighters line-up.

Classic Icon.
The image of Samuel Wilson has been very well preserved. He was a businessman who donated meat to the soldiers during the war effort in the Civil War. Very well done.
