YC Chocolatier makes the finest all natural sugar free confections available today. The YC Dark Bar is a unique and upscale product much like a fine wine, developed specifically with the Natural community in mind. With 70% cocoa, the taste is, without question, the outstanding feature in this remarkable confection created solely for your safe and healthy enjoyment. Included are 12, 3 oz.bars gift-boxed. The developers at YC Chocolatier have created this low carbohydrate sugar free Dark Bar with no artificial colorings, flavors, preservatives or sweeteners. There are no trans fatty acids and our plant is peanut free. YC's confections also match or exceed the finest chocolates in taste and texture. YC Sugar Free has satisfied natural food retailers established criteria for what they consider to be Natural and clean. Our Sugar Free products meet the FDA sugar free requirement not to exceed 0.5% sugar from any source, per serving size and are lactose (milk sugar) free. YC's cacao beans have been properly grown, harvested, fermented, dried, blended, roasted, winnowed, refined, conched and tempered, to create their own unique intense chocolate taste. The sweetener used in our confections is Maltitol, a non sugar sweetener that comes from corn. It is about 90% as sweet as sugar and is non-cariogenic. Maltitol is mostly not digested and therefore, like fiber, the Maltitol carbohydrates listed on the nutritional panel should be deducted from the Total Carbohydrates to arrive at the net digested carbohydrates. This results in 2g of carbohydrates per 42g serving in the Dark Bar. This product is therefore particularly useful for those looking for a low carbohydrate confection. Our confections do not raise blood serum glucose and are therefore also suitable for diabetics. Because we use a minimal amount of Maltitol, the usual laxative effect is all but eliminated.

Excellent Chocolate
I'm allergic to milk and my wife and I avoid sugar. Splenda wrecks my stomach. We're so glad to have a maltitol-sweetened alternative that isn't overdone to the point where it's like snacking on ExLax. Though we've tried most brands of sugar-free chocolate, we've come to love YC's offerings. Most chocolates are ridiculously sweet to the point where I can't stand them; these are just right. We buy the 8-pound box and store it in the fridge where we nibble on one or two per day for months. I'm sorry the other reviewer had such a negative experience. This is great tasting chocolate. We store it for long periods of time and are grateful to have something that suits our needs and tastes.

Excellent Chocolate
YC Chocolate Tabs proved to be excellent in all respects: texture, flavor, color, it ships well and is suitable for diabetics. The main drawback is that the eight pound container doesn't seem to last very long around our house (the tabs can be had in a smaller package if you just want to try them.) It's a dark chocolate and some may find it on the bitter side, but that's our preference, and it has a wonderful chocolate taste. If you like Hershey's Milk Chocolate, this isn't for you; otherwise, for the price you can't beat the taste and quality. Highly recommended.

Great chocolate for someone with a lot of eating sensitivities
My husband is gluten sensitive, dairy sensitive, and diabetic. To find chocolate that he can eat is hard. To find chocolate that he can eat AND is really good is even harder. But, this product is really good. It tastes good and you would never know that it doesn't have all those things things that he can't eat.I use this chocolate in cooking desserts for him. His favorite is chocolate chip cookies, but I use it in a lot of different recipes like cakes, cupcakes, etc.

Excellent sugar-free chocolate
I have purchased the 8 pound size several times and received an excellent product in good condition. This is almost a semi-sweet chocolate, which suites my taste and minimizes the amount of maltinol. Storage has been fine for months in an air tight container at room temperature.

Loved it, but this price hike is ridiculous
Been buying Yamate chocolate for years. Great taste.. but last time I bought 8lbs bulk it cost $96, now it's $136, that's a huge increase. At these prices will have to re-evaluate market, other brands now come into play.

Worst sugar free I've ever had
Not only were they bad tasting when I got them, they WENT bad while storing in my dark, cool pantry. AND these were half the price when I got them 5 months ago...

Disappointed
It took 10 days to arrive and the expiration date is July 2014. I have 2months to finish 8 lbs of chocolate.Although the taste was acceptable and small pieces for easy snack on it.
