There is not the normal male end but the male end and the quick release are made in one piece. As a result, It is too small to tighten the quick release male end to anything by hand. That said if you want to use the sprayer (to harsh for watering plants, good to wash the car) that comes with it you need something to tighten it to put it on: You than need the pliers again to change to a flower soaker. troublesome! Why mess with something as simple as a garden hose with male and female ends! So I have to keep pliers with the hose because it comes with a quick release male end, kinda defeats the purpose. Hoses are kinda expansive these day so i got a quick release for the other end so i can remove it and store it, not leaving it in the front yard.

So far so good. I'm used to being disappointed with the "cheaper" stuff you can find in the local brick and mortar stores. The spray nozzle that comes with this hose is pretty nice. It's someone light weight, has a modern design and grip and the spray adjustment works with pretty good precision. Meaning if you turn it one way or the other, you get a consistent circle of spray and not intermittent like you get with the cheapies. The only thing with the nozzle is that I would recommend some plumber's tap on the connector. Out of the box, it was a bit loose and when I tightened it, it seemed to leak a slight bit. So I grabbed some regular plumbers tape, gave it a few wraps and works perfect. I really like the color and quality of the outside cover on the hose, it definitely makes it look and feel like it's better quality. The true test is to see how long it lasts. The other cheapie stuff usually doesn't last more than a month or so.

Pros: Brass fittings.That's it.Cons: It lasted 6 weeks, just passed the return or exchange.It does not come with ON/OFF valve.I was very disappointed. With so many positive reviews, I thought, "even if it makes a year, I'm ok with that." 6 weeks.....The inner hose just popped during use. I didn't realize it for 20 minutes, so hundreds of gallons were wasted.Don't waste your time. I am trying another hose, third one of the sort, hopefully I will have better luck.

After buying several of these type expandable hoses, this one appears to be a big improvement over the others I have tried which have all broken from the inside of the hose/tube near the end connector point with the wall outlet attachment. Unlike the others, this one also does not leak on the sprayer end. So far, this is working well and I am very happy with it, although am treating with kid gloves. Like the blue color which makes it stand out from the grass.

I purchased 2 hoses & unexpecitly had to leave home for 6 weeks so did not get to use within the return policy time frame. Both hoses leaked badly when first used. We attempted to tighten the first hose, all fitting came off. It is now not usable at all. The second hose we approched with the first in mind & were able to tighten some but it still leaks leaving my pant leg & my arm wet regardless of how I hold it. I purposely went out of the way to purchase a hose with brass fittings for durability, I'm not saying they are not brass, but am saying we have our doubts.

Had to repair after two months use. Broke again .Send broken hose and new unused hose back to Seller.**BEWARE SELLER CHARGED ME 20% RESTOCKING FEE FOR BOTH NEW AND ALSO THE FAULTY HOSE.**

Totally garbage... Lasted a whole 10 minutes before bursting... Do not waste your money.P.s. I bought two and the second one lasted a day... Then burst the second time I used it.

I needed a replacement for a defective hose and I wanted the flexibility that the Dreamthinker Expandable hose provided. I received my order earlier than expected and the hose has been dependable and reliable purchase!
