Not what you might expect.
After two weeks of operation I can say this product is not what it should be. Many others have given four or five stars in their reviews and I can only assume they are morons who do not understand what this unit is doing to their equipment. If set as recommended this t-stat will have your heat cycling on and off way to often (5 times each hour recommended for a gas furnace). Combine this with the ridiculous idea of maintaining a 1/2 degree spread on set temperature and you then have a heating system that RUNS 45 to 50 minutes each hour just to keep inside temperature at 69 degrees when the outside temp is 50! What happens when it gets cold? The WiFi information is definitely lacking. The display on your phone is slow to react to changes once you have connected with the T-stat and will update infrequently leaving you with a question as to whether or not the unit is really working. Information displayed is minimal. Temp in, set point and temp out (if aux sensor is installed) and that's it. You cannot tell if the unit is running, how long it has run or if there is something else going on that you should know about. You're left to find out about any problems after the fact.If the owner is having someone else (an HVAC/contractor?) install the unit then help from Honeywell is not an issue which is good since help from Honeywell is not available. As soon as they ask if you are a contractor or the homeowner you know you are in trouble. References to things like "pump upstage", "droop" or "cycle rate" are made in the setup manual but not explained anywhere else in the literature. If you're putting this T-stat in yourself you really need to know what the language means and Honeywell doesn't provide any guidance with this at all.As a whole, this T-stat does work at a minimally acceptable level but from a big name like Honeywell (leaders in their field for how many years?) I would expect a LOT more for the money.UPDATE: After several months I have come to the conclusion this T-stat is a waste of money. Biggest complaint is the unit does NOT report (or even seem to use) the actual inside temperature. It will start and run the furnace while NEVER showing ANY change in inside temp. When a temp change is inputted at the T-stat the indicated temp will change to reflect the inputted setting within a few seconds even if the change was 3 or 4 degrees (there is no way the air could warm up that fast therefore the unit is not reading inside temp). Very poor performance from what should be a dependable and reliable home fixture.

14 Thermostats in 6 building locations and THRILLED!
I couldn't be happier with the 14 Honeywell TH8320WF1029 thermostats! They have saved us approx. $3,000 in heating and cooling over the past 12 months. The building is an 1895 restored opera house. We are a non-profit with limited budget, and none to waste. Through the Honeywell TotalConnect portal I created 6 locations with anywhere from 1 to 6 thermostats in each. I've set up schedules to control floors where lessons are held, as well as a schedule for the Box Office to kick on at the start of the day and kick off at the end. The auditorium, banquet hall and ballroom, etc. are left at a constant 60° in the winter and 85° in the summer until we need to use the room and are turned on in time to heat/cool the area(s) by the time patrons arrive. One huge advantage of these thermostats over the non-wi-fi Honeywell thermostats these replaced is that we can turn the heat/cooling on exactly when we need so as to heat the auditorium by showtime. Previously they were turned on sometimes 2 to 3 days early as no one would be back in the theatre prior to the show. This alone is a major improvement and has been a great money saver. And on top of that, now no one has to trudge up to the balcony to physically set the thermostats in that area. (And no one 'forgets' to turn them off!)This winter has been brutal and we've had to postpone 2 shows due to weather emergencies. Being able to turn off the heat remotely is a godsend. Neither the exec. director or I could have gotten to the building to turn the heat off. And each day it's heated is hundreds of dollars. Here are just a few more features that were very important to us:• Able to 'lockout' the keypad so unauthorized people can't change system to heat from cool and vice versa. (Patrons and renters would actually turn on AC in the winter if they got warm from working, instead of turning the heat down!)• Able to set a minimum and maximum temperature. In heat mode, the keypad won't allow heat to go above 74°, in cool it can't go below 72°. (This prevents patrons and renters from cranking the heat up to 85° because they're 'chilled'.)• Able to set up schedules for work and lesson areas.• Able to monitor the building temperatures. With 14 units it's easier to see when something needs to be serviced before it will be needed.• Able to set up the TotalConnect app in a logical way to control each floor and area separately and easily.Installation: We are in an area where technology is, shall we say, in its infancy, as far as contractors go. It's understandable since only a few businesses in town have fiber optics available. Some people have cable internet, but most have to make do with satellite internet. That being said, our HVAC man installed the thermostats, however I am the person who set them up.The service manuals are "in the box" so once I got started on programming them, it was simple. Just a little time consuming. 4 of the thermostats have remote sensors (to the stage) and that didn't add any problems. The *only* problem I had was connecting 2 of the units to wi-fi. I kept getting an error, so called Honeywell. They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! (And yes, I bought these on Amazon.) The gentleman explained to me how to reset the wi-fi to factory and walked me through connecting. On occasion we'll lose contact (power outage, server goes down) and I've set the notifications to alert us after 1 hour. It sends just one email alert and that's it. (Prior to finding that setting, we got lots and lots of notifications. Explore the TotalConnect online, not through the app, to find settings.)It's been a 18 months since I bought the first wi-fi Honeywell Thermostat and installed in the box office. It saved us $100 on our first electric bill, so we approached the board about changing all in the building. The rest were installed a year ago. They have paid for themselves over and over just so far.I highly recommend these for other small businesses!UPDATE: Still thrilled! A note about programming... Some of our units use heat pumps, some don't. This winter one heat pump went out and the unit needed to be set to backup heating. I, not being an HVAC person, wasn't sure which options to choose in setup so had left it at default (none). Our HVAC guy went to the theatre and I was able to walk him through on the phone how to access the programming to change it to what was required for backup heat. The programming is very simple -- if you know what to select!I'm also adding a photo of the phone app to show just how easy it is to keep track of many thermostats in a large facility.

BEWARE!!!!
I purchased this unit as it is one of the few available that will work with 24 Volt systems. Ran into a "glitch" as I was programming it after installation, so called Honeywell to help resolve the coding issue. First thing out of their mouth was that this unit is supposed to be a CONTRACTOR installed unit. That's interesting, as there is nothing in the literature anywhere that mentions that!! They were not able to help me, but I figured it out myself. The unit functioned beautifully for 2 months. Then I noticed that the "Wi-Fi Signal Lost" warning was being displayed on the unit's screen and I got an alert on my phone with the same message. I attempted to re-initialize it with no luck. Thought it might be the router, as I had had some issues with it in the past, so bought a new router. Still no connection and called Honeywell. The tech was again hesitant to assist as he wanted me to contact my CONTRACTOR. I finally convinced him that I was more than capable of working on it and after many attempts to rectify the issue, he stated that it definitely appeared to be an internal fault/failure and that I would need to warranty the unit with my supplier. Well guess what?? The supplier, Great Advantage Sales, refuses to warranty it (or take it back. Outside of their 30 day policy), stating that it is a MANUFACTURER issue. Now I'm having to fight Honeywell over the CONTRACTOR INSTALLED issue, even though it comes with a 5 year warranty. That again states NOWHERE that it is supposed to be contractor installed!!! BEWARE!!!!!!! Just an update: Honeywell has stepped up and is going to warranty the unit.
