Holds up well, and has not chipped or fallen apart. Review: Better than new - My computer desk was showing major signs of wear—scratches, scuffs, and a big spot where using a mouse had removed and dulled the finish. I was going to refinish the wood, but figured the same thing would happen in a year's time. So, I went to Lowes to see about getting a laminate to cover the damage. They didn't have anything in stock, but I found samples I liked and would order it online. When I went to their website, the laminate I wanted was out of stock. After waiting a couple months, it was evident that Lowes would never restock the material. I never thought I'd find laminate on desertcart, but I typed in a few key words and found many styles and patterns of Formica. I was struggling between two colors, and eventually ordered the Prestige Walnut. I was a little hesitant, but was surprised when my order arrived in perfect shape a few days early. The Formica was a gorgeous color, matching my desk perfectly. All I needed was a couple days and a can of contact cement, and my desk looks like new—actually, better than new. Thanks desertcart. I'll be checking here first before looking elsewhere for almost anything. ## Features - Formica White(949) 4' x 8' Laminate Sheets Matte Finish - Best in the Industry - Fast shipping ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B017JO7066 | | Best Sellers Rank | #178,725 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #85 in Laminate Flooring | | Brand | Formica | | Brand Name | Formica | | Color | 949 White | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 652 Reviews | | Grade Rating | Residential | | Item Dimensions | 96 x 48 x 12 inches | | Item Form | Sheet | | Item Shape | Rectangular | | Item Weight | 10 pounds | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 96 x 48 x 12 inches | | Manufacturer | Formica | | Material | laminate | | Model Number | FL949-1058-48 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | FL949-1058-48 | | Shape | Rectangular | | UPC | 722603000040 722603015778 | | Unit Count | 32 Square Feet | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Formica - **Color:** 949 White - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 96 x 48 x 12 inches - **Material:** laminate - **Shape:** Rectangular ## Images ![Formica White(949) 4' x 8' Matte Finish - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41FLUIX7Q6L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: I am looking for this laminate top ti at least be 36"wide and 60" long** A: It comes in a sheet 48 x 96 inches. Keep the extra for more projects. **Q: Does this have a backsplash and end cover?** A: No, this isn't a countertop. It is just a 4 ft. by 8 ft. sheet of Formica laminate only. It is approximately 1/16" thick and requires sizing and adhering to a prepped surface. **Q: What is the box size it is shipped in?** A: The box was about 1.5 to 2 feet square by the width of the laminet. **Q: I want to use this as a work top surface and be able to write in pencil on it and then erase it. Will I be able to do this?** A: Sure can ! Exactly what I am doing. Also dry erase marker. Worse case a spritze of alcohol sanitizer and all wipes clean ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great purchase! *by L***E on November 17, 2025* Used this to cover a custom workbench top I built for my shop. Used this for my first experience laying Formica countertop and it performed exactly to specs. This stuff is hard to find in big box hardware stores. I have enough for another project which I have not yet planned. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/162596772-formica-white-949-4-x-8-matte-finish](https://www.desertcart.be/products/162596772-formica-white-949-4-x-8-matte-finish) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
