The NINJA is by far the best thermometer I have ever used, and I have used several. This particular order was a gift for an aspiring chef and it saved her first thanksgiving turkey adventure. I really like the simple design and will purchase the NINJA for other friends.

I smoked meat all weekend and the Texas BBQ Ninja was close to 20 degrees low on temperature. I would not recommend this product.

I BBQ 2-3 times a week and almost always use a temperature probe. This one has a very slow response time (30+ seconds for 70-160F). It's very difficult to avoid burning your hand in this amount of time and, if you are doing covered BBQ, your loose most of your heat. See picture for comparison after 20 seconds of probe time - the ThermoWorks probe reaches 159F in less than 5 seconds, no burnt hand and I can quickly close up the BBQ lid. On the plus side, it does seem to be accurate if you can wait long enough for it to settle out and is easy to handle and operate.

This seems to work well. The last one I had failed when I loaned it to someone and it didn't come back. Being that it's my second one, I'd say I like the product well enough to buy twice.
