Dry brushing is an ancient health and beauty practice that has recently become popular. This technique uses brushes made of stiff bristles, that when applied to the body with gentle pressure, produces some noticeable health and beauty benefits. These benefits include an increase in blood, lymph and fluid circulation in and around the skin. This can have the effect of easing edema and fluid stagnation, eliminating dimples and ripples often associated with cellulite, enhance the skins complexion, even out spots of discoloration, greatly soften the skin and balance the skin's texture, firm and tone areas of the body, and can even have an overall immune enhancing effect. Best if used daily for approximately 10 minutes. Because of its exfoliating qualities, it is recommended that dry brushing be done in the shower or bath tub, so that accumulations of exfoliated skin can be easily washed away. Dry bushing can even be done before certain spa treatments to enhance their effectiveness/results. These treatments include both wet/dry sauna sessions, mineral and/or seaweed wraps and mud treatments.
