Mudder 100 Pcs Mini Christmas 2.5 Volt Replacement Light Bulbs for Christmas Trees Decorative Light Supplies Indoor Outdoor Xmas Decor, 0.17 Ampere, 0.42 Watt (Clear)

These were compatible with my old pre-lit National Tree with clear incandescent lights. All of the bulbs worked and look the exact same as the originals in brightness and hue. They come in a handy plastic case. Do double-check the tag on your light string to see that the volts and watts match. The bulbs also have shunts (thin coil of wire at the base) that should almost always kick in when the filament of a bulb eventually burns out, so that the rest of the string stays lit, which is essential. I previously tried buying replacement bulbs from National Tree, but they made the husk design smaller in 2021, so these standalone bulbs were ideal and much cheaper (100 for $9 v.s. $52 from the manufacturer). Tips for replacing lights: I tried using a contactless current reader to narrow down the burnt bulbs but it was too sensitive to use on my pre-lit tree. If you notice burnt bulbs, replace them immediately because burnt bulbs cause a voltage increase which dramatically shortens the life of other bulbs on the string. I ended up taking out all 50 lights in the string, testing each on a working string, replacing burnt bulbs with these using the original husks, then placing the 50 working bulbs back in. This was tedious but worked. Or you may be able to just identify dead bulbs by checking if the filament is broken. But so many of mine were dead in the string (>90%) that taking them all out worked better. The relief when you plug in the string and it finally works 😌 These are great for replacing one-off burnt bulbs. If your whole string is out, it’s harder to ID burnt bulbs and you might want to buy a new string. But if you’re patient and have an hour to burn, you can get any string working again.

The clear warm lights are working perfect for replacements on my string of lights! They are the exact same color and brightness (: they are the same size and fit in the socket just fine. Super easy to change out and comes with a ton. Great amount for a great price.

Exactly what I need, none broken, I used 193 of the 200 and all of them worked. These are a touch brighter than the old ones that remain functional on the tree, but blended them in a bit and you can't tell.

The bulbs function well to relamp typical light strings and pre-lit trees. The brightness is just fine, matching existing lights well. Frankly, I don't understand the complaints of other reviewers that they're too dim. If you'd needed the typical "2.5V" bulbs, these are it. Apply about 2.5V and they'll be bright enough, matching existing lights. One cautionary note is that the wire leads are cut just a bit shorter than some other applications. Consequently, you might find that the contact questionable in particularly deep sockets? They were fine in any string that I'd tried - just a thought. Now... let's see if they last a few seasons.

I have a 10' string of lights that I bought about 15 years ago. I kept the box and the voltage rating of the bulbs wasn't listed. I also have an 18' string of lights that I bought about 3 years ago and it said 2.5V bulb on the box. Both were made by Holiday Time. Both have 50 bulbs per segment: 120V/50 bulbs = 2.5 volts per bulb. I won't bore you with the lengthy troubleshooting I went through (FYI I'm a retired electrical engineer) but the conclusion is unmistakable: the Mudder 2.5V mini bulbs work great on the 10' string but on the 18' string, the new bulbs are dim. To take Mudder bulbs out of the picture, I took a good bulb from the 10' line and put it in the 18' line: dim bulb. I took a good bulb from the 18' line and put it into the 10' line and it blew out immediately. I see that in the summary of the critiques there were a few more positives than negatives but they were both pretty close to 50% which further substantiates the idea that there are at least 2 different kinds of lines from Holiday Time. I plan on calling their tech support to understand what the difference is and what kind of bulb I need for my 18' line.

Needed to replace most of my Christmas tree light bulbs and this kit was perfect it took me a bit of time to change them but they work great, easy to use, good price and they all worked and fit nicely

I was happy to see that these incandescent 2.5v bulbs were a BRIGHT, 'COOL colored' clear light rather than warm (yellowish) bulbs. I have 2 100 bulb spheres purchased many years ago. I was hesitant to take a chance on ordering replacement bulbs online because mini bulbs come in many sizes, lengths, widths and color tone with different bases that work with different receptacles. This product description had clear measurements with clear pictures of the base so I knew these bulbs would be compatible with my spheres, I just was not sure if they were 'cool' or 'warm' light. My spheres would have looked awful had these bulbs been a 'warm' light. I will also mention that I could not beat the price for the quantity elsewhere online. I ended up replacing over 70 bulbs between the 2 spheres & have finally accepted that there is no easy way to replace mini lights that have florets on them.

I have several sets of icicle lights in permanent use. I have been replacing bulbs as they go with bulbs from another set but obviously, that is not sustainable. I bought these to put in the husks from the bulbs I have removed. Unfortunately, on testing the first one, it was very dim (though the rest of the bulbs light when it's replaced). Measuring, my old bulbs are about 5 Ohms and these are about 2.5 Ohms (it is hard to get a steady reading). They might work fine if a whole run of ten was replaced in one go but the ten would be brighter. These bulbs burn using about twice the power of the original bulbs and I would expect their lifetime to be reduced commensurately. In complete fairness, the specs of the bulbs are very clear in the product listing and the seller includes instructions in the product listing for ensuring the buyer picks the correct bulbs so I have removed no stars for what was my error. I have made my review in the hope of helping others avoid my mistake and, with any luck, saving the seller from bad reviews that might arise from others making similar errors.
