wears well
I got the pink/mauve colour because I really loved it. Exactly as shown on screen.I have used another colour way before for a pair of socks, 3 years on and they are wearing really well, not great recovery so would maybe use a contrasting colour for the cuff next time.Over all feels great, lovely colours and hard wearing, would recommend.

Good purchase
Good sock wool, nice colour moves, made a pair of sock and enough for one more!

Really not suitable for socks
A number of other reviewers have criticised this yarn as unsuitable for socks and I can only agree with them. It is very poorly twisted and of varying thickness along the length. The colours are beautiful but on a long repeat so the ball needs to be split to match two socks; not usually a problem. Unfortunately this yarn sticks and knots to itself so badly that I just couldn't make it work. I persevered halfway through one sock until the yarn knotted irretrievably but by that time I'd already seen the uneven finish of the knit and the likelihood that the socks, if I ever managed to get them knitted, would last barely two or three wears before holes would appear. At one point, the yarn was so thin I thought I'd end up with a hole before the socks were even worn. The yarn might be suitable for a lacy knit that doesn't get much wear; a scarf maybe. But not socks. Definitely NOT socks!

I hate leaving bad reviews, but ...
I hate leaving bad reviews, but I am afraid I have to this time. This is sold as sock wool, but it has not been properly spun and twisted. Sock wool needs to be twisted tightly and evenly so that the knitted fabric is durable, and this just has not happened here. There are loose bits and tight bits, thick bits and thin bits. I have knitted my socks, but I don't think they will last long before they show signs of wear. There is also a lumpy, thick-and-thin effect in parts of the knitted fabric, which I don't like. (I have been knitting for over 50 years and my knitting is good enough that people admire it, so this is not just an excuse for my poor workmanship.)Overall, it is not the worst I have seen - the price is reasonable, the wool is lovely and soft once washed and the colours are beautiful, but it is not suitable for socks, in my opinion.

Misleading colours
Iβm not at all happy to find that the lilac/pink/turquoise yarn that I purchased is knitting up to be mostly blues.Itβs lovely to knit with, but the colours are a major disappointment

Not particularly suitable for socks! (despite the description)
This yarn is very pretty. However, even using a short tail cast on, the yarn became very thin and broke before I was able to cast on the top cuff of a sock. Therefore, even if I managed to knit socks, I am doubtful that they would be at all durable.Repurposed for a scarf, which is looking more promising.

not good
Ii am very dissapointed in this sock wool i bought and had delivered yesterdaythe strands of the wool vary from very thin to very thick making my knitting look not a neat as it usually doe, making not suitible for a present i was intending it to be . There are lumps where the strand is thick and very thin bits of the sock where the thread is very thin, making me wonder how strong the sock will be to general wear and tear. I would not buy this product againthe only good thing i find is the colors which are nice .

Bad colour reproduction is misleading.
Nice quality wool which arrived promptly but because of bad colour reproduction on listing, it was the wrong colour for my project. No biggie, I will use it for something, but a little disappointing. This shade is far darker than it looks here, so beware.
