I think for the price, this is a great item. It looks just like the OEM light I had in there. To install, I just unplugged the old one, removed one bolt to take it off, screwed the new one on and plugged it in. It works just fine. For those who complained that the bulb is soldered in, its weird, but just use it till it burns out. Should be a while unless you have your hood open 24x7. If you are handy like most dudes, you will just desolder the old bulb and put in a correct one later. Easy right? That is what I plan on doing anyway. I have an LED bulb already to put in there once the current one burns out, but there is no reason to do that right away. If you can't desolder the bulb, then buy a whole new light assembly again once it burns out, you only paid $9 is dollars for the whole thing. I recommend this light.

The light arrived arrived within 24 hours of my placing the order and was put into service immediately on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport to replace a worn out unit that was 5 years old. The price was half that of the earlier-replaced OEM unit that it replaces, but it does take a couple of shortcuts: First, the light bulb is soldered in place. A bit of a booger to replace if it ever burns out. Secondly, the tilt switch is generic, but is adjustable. The adjustable aspect is nice and I set it to not turn on until the hood was almost completely open. No false turn-ons when parked on a steep hill. It works as-designed and I’d buy another.

Seems kind of cheap and don't expect the light to last long, but it does work.

I just replace my under hood light with this product and I see no physical difference. It plugged right in and worked with no problems. Now I can't speak to reliability, that remains to be seen. The price was ridiculous and you can buy 4 of these for the price of OEM. Now I do support American made and I do so on those more critical and expensive products that require reliability and durability, this product receives a pass in my book.Update: it is dead after 3 times of opening the hood. Don’t waste your money on this product, reliability is certified horrible. Zero stars if I had the option. I’m buying USA built only.

I thought of this to fill enough for free shipping. Ended up quite satisfied with the look, quality and benefit from acquiring it.Brightness is good, the fit is good, easy to install as my jeep had one back in the day, it was basically plug and play for me.Good value for the money, it helps a lot when on the road and you need to check quick, very good replacement.

There's not a single redeemable quality about this item. The plastic feels awful and cheap, the hinge was holding on by a thread when I opened the box, the bulb is SOLDERED into the slot!!! there are other awful looking solders inside too. I would give this item an expected lifespan of about 2 uses assuming it doesn't break before you install it. Applied for a return within 5 minutes of opening the box. This kind of quality should be in a dollar store (for less than a dollar), not $62AUD. Absolute disgrace, wont be buying anything with Dorman written in it from here on out, since clearly they don't care about the quality of the product.

I used this to add a hood light to my 2002 Toyota Highlander after I retrofit a super bright LED bulb into my friend's Dodge Charger. Great little light and will work on a wide variety of cars if you're up to the task of a little bit of DIY. Overall quality was a little flimsy but so is the Mopar one - and I knew that before hand. I also replaced the dinky dome light with a super bright LED bulb.
