Promising Concept
*** Not a Paid Review ***Note: I've only had a chance to 'test' it, but feel I've done so enough to keep the device.I meant to pick this up while it was being demoed at Lowes this season, but my project wasn't quite ready to prep for at the time. Now they're only available from AMZ and direct I believe. I've a few 'normal' stud finders and none of them were giving me any usable feedback with my walls (1980s, Florida prefab, likely metal studs, god awful popcorn crap on EVERYTHING). I have a habit of thinking of solutions before they exist and was happy to come across this particular concept IRL for once. The idea is sound (well, light actually) and makes sense on how it should work with minimal accuracy issues. I especially like the idea of it being app supported because that means new features will more likely be software based than hardware. TBH, I'd rathered this been a BT based device, but given that they've provided the OTG cable in the box, I'm happy with that.Others have gone over the features and methods pretty well, but I've decided to stick to my situation as officially it's not supported. So in case someone Else has what I have or similar enough to matter, here's what I've worked out.Firstly, so long as it's on sale, buy this Directly from the MFG! I could have saved like $15 if I'd gone to their site first. Had I done that, then the round of accessories I purchased would have made up for the savings. I purchased the combo set of the Plus edition on here that came with the semi-rugged case and a few extra supplies. I then went to the MFG's site (care of the in-app ads!) and grabbed the full accessory kit plus the plastic mount kit. I'd almost bought the hard shell that's on here, but now I'm glad I didn't as it wouldn't have been as nice a storage configuration as this kit is (stuff would be all over the case or not enough room). I can snuggly fit most of the extras in the case, but I've opted to leave half of the dozen or so discs in the device's original packaging (along with the extra cables and manual).I'm currently using this with an LG G7 ThinQ phone that officially isn't supported by the plastic mount. The popcorn walls also aren't officially supported as the device Will bounce, causing inaccuracies. But being me I "found a way" that isn't too MacGyverish, nor ugly looking. With the kits come these large plastic covers that are intended to serve as an anti-scratch layer for the walls (I think). According to the instructions, you're not Supposed to use them with the Plus device as it is designed a little different from the base model. I've placed one of these on the wall facing side and while it doesn't exactly want to stay put for long periods (it gets air under the adhesive side), it should help keep the device itself cleaner as well as allow for a smoother glide across the wall (as opposed to hopping ever other inch). Also included in the kits are the discs that have adhesive on both sides (mount the phone to the device). I don't plan on rinsing them or whatever, so I bought a bunch as I'm betting they'll get dirty pretty quick if there's enough dust in the environment. They work ok to keep the phone attached to the device, but I found it still rather tricky to keep everything aligned. It was this that led me to get the plastic grips as those plus the discs should equal a rigid structure. To keep track of which one I've used, I decided to leave it attached to the device and put one of the plastic films back on the phone side.Note: Due to how these are made, they will more than likely leave an oily outline on whatever they're attached to when removed. I figured on this and chose to keep my (very thin) rubber case on the phone (even before deciding on the plastic mounts) as I don't care if it gets marked and it'll be easier to clean than the phone. This later became the best option when I went to test the plastic mounts. The plastic mounts come with two sizes and my phone (out of case) is sort of the monkey in the middle fit wise. This is likely why they've said it's not compatible, physically speaking. With the case, however, the largest adaptor is actually slightly too small. It could use another say 3 mm diameter on the phone side to allow for a fit that won't make me check for cracking. As is though, once you snap everything in, it's good and snug.See the pics for references of what's described above.Phone Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C222CC4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Works fantastic, once you understand how to use it
People apparently purchased thinking this has some sort of magical xray vision. It's not. It uses sound waves, which will vary in return speed/frequency when hitting changes in density inside a wall.I found it extremely accurate once properly calibrated. My only complaint is the "sticky pad" which I have simply replaced with a pop socket and stick-on car mount for the pop socket. I also found it helps to purchase a longer USB OTG cable (make sure you get one that matches your phone, and has Micro USB on the other end) in case you want to scan a ceiling but don't want to look up at the ceiling the entire time. Works great with a 6 foot cable.

Fine tool
I really like the tool. Very easy to use.One small drawback for me is the constant set up every time. But all in all it was well worth the money.

Excellent product
This is an excellent product. Be patient and watch the included tutorial video on the app. The assistance is excellent. I do recommend this product. It gives me more confidence in locating studs and conduits inside walls. Worth the expense to know what is hidden there.

Doesn't work with most smart phones
Couldn't get this to function with Samsung Galaxy S10 or s20 ultra. First generation worked great. Let down from a decent company, most likely to go under with this failure.UPDATE: On a whim, I decided to try to connect again, but this time I used my own wire instead of the cord walabot furnished. It worked perfectly, in fact it's a game changer. It's too bad the wires they supplied are of poor quality that it probably hurt the company. Quality is important.

This really works, hard to believe but it works.
This really works, hard to believe but it works. So no stud finder out there works, people might say they do but they DON'T! This Walabot does work, it's always correct. It always finds the center of the stud and I put the screw in the wall and I hit the stud. Worth every penny I paid.Takes some getting used to but once you figure it out it'll be easy to use.

Does not work on 95% of walls for me, might be higher
Will not calibrate, says it all. If it does not calibrate then it will not work. Stay away and save your money. In all the walls I have tried it worked once. And it seems for my version that you can only use the supplied connection cable which is only 6 inches maybe. I have tried other longer cables and nothing else will even let it be detected. So now you have proprietary cables and a product that does not work. There is no way I am spending the money for the wireless version since this one does not work.

Finally something that lives up to the hipe
I have used different stud finders over the years and nothing compares to the accuracy in finding wood and metal studs, wiring, and piping. This unit attaches to my phone very quickly and is easy to handle. I purchased the high impact case to go with it so I can toss it in the cab of my truck or accidentally drop it and not damage it. I have a lot of friends in my coworkers asking to borrow it all the time. Great product!

A great new tool.
The Walabot made the basement project much easier to do. We used the Walabot to help us install pot lights. It is a great new tool to use to see behind the wall.

Accurate
You need to invest some time learning to use this. Practice on different surfaces. Now that I'm used to it I find it accurate and very useful.

Still going well and very useful
Bought this over a year ago and still use it regularly. Really good on Gyprock walls comon in OZ (Australia) for locating electrical wires, stud, pipe etc behind the wall before I drill and create an unexpected larger project !

Easy set up
Best stud finder ever used. Easy to set up. Very unique. Build quality is fantastic. Used it right away, it really shows the difference, dont wast your money on anything else, get your Walabot. It shows wood, cables, pipes. Like the fact that it comes with a type C usb cable.
