Loads of fun
I received this scooter yesterday and have had approx 4 hours on it so far. Yes it is that fun! I wanted to write a quick review of things so far.Firstly this seller gets 5 stars from me. They shipped the scooter from Poland so no long wait for a boat from China. It arrived to my door in 5 days and well packed. They also offer a limited warranty so I know if there are any problems within the first 6 months, I can get some help. Now the scooter itself. The scooter is sturdy and has a solid feeling folding mechanism. Please read the instructions for folding it as I have seen YouTube users hitting the lever with a hammer to fold it! There is a little safety feature to fold it up so it doesnt fold up whilst you are riding it. This is a good thing! PLEASE Do not smash your lovely scooter! Just read the manual! It is quite heavy but all scooters like this are due to the battery and motors. This one is actually a little lighter than leading brands. It's very front heavy so there wasnt a natural place to grip it easily where it felt good to carry. Fine for on and off the train, you would not want to hike 2km whilst carrying it. It might fit into a large hiking rucksack if you needed to carry it a longer way and this would be more comfortable. One thing that wasnt perfect was the folding mechanism for the handle bars. The handle bars are sort of solid feeling but there is a little bit of play in them so they move ever so slightly relative to the frame. Not a huge deal, but when you're going a little faster you want the thing to feel as solid as possible. The handlebars are height adjustable so it will suit both tall and small people.I charged it in a little under 3 hours but it had maybe 30% charge when it arrived so I feel 4 hours is more reasonable from flat. However ideally dont run the battery all the way down to 0 on a regular basis as lithium ions dont like this. The colour display is really nice looking and adds to the quality of the product. Gives you detailed information about the performance of the scooter and battery I including battery levels, current speed, distance and time travelled, etc. It looks really nice. This thing has a good amount of power. I weigh 80kg so I'm not a small guy and it still really goes with me on it. Even what I consider to be quite steep inclines were handled ok, although the scooter slows down a great deal. The scooter free wheels nicely so you can zip down hills really nicely without using battery up. You can also push the scooter with your foot like a non electric type if you ran out of battery, but be aware it's much heavier than a normal one so it feels like harder work. The scooter feels safe to ride. It has suspension and this can be adjusted to make it a bit softer. The solid rubber tyres are a blessing and a curse. They will never go flat and are very durable. The downside is you dont get the cushioning of the air so the ride is rougher. On slightly bumpy roads, there is noise and rattling from the suspension but nothing beyond what you would expect. The scooter has lights front and back. The front headlights are seriously bright and I was more than happy to ride it down my road in complete blackness with these lights.I managed 25kph at top speed. As I said I am quite heavy. I have no doubt this scooter can get to 30kph with someone lighter. Mind you, 25 feels FAST and I was much more comfortable at speed 1 which is 15kph. This will give you the longest range as well. There is a cruise control but it's not mentioned in the manual. If you hold the throttle all the way down for about 8 seconds and let go, it will continue at that level until you touch throttle or brakes. This can surprise you so be careful! Now the one downside. The brakes. They are electric brakes which means the electric motor slows you down. I have not been able to find out if these are regenerative brakes, meaning that they charge the battery a little it. Either way they are almost too good. There doesnt seem to be an easy way to slow down a little bit. The brakes are quite sharp and squirrelly feeling. Because they are on the front wheel you must shift your weight back or you could go over the bars. I have got used to pulsing the brakes, shifting my weight and controlling them. It's just.....not as smooth and safe feeling as a light press on something like a bicycle disk brake which some other scooters have. There is a kick brake on the back wheel for emergencies but the manual advises not to use it at high speeds? It doesnt explain why it says this. This is the worst part of the scooter and it's not that bad really. Take your time to get to learn the brakes before you use this properly. The brakes do not function if the unit is off and you are push scooting it. Do not forget this if you decide to go for a push! You can still use the back brake though which is mechanical. There is a horn which is a sharp beep. Not the best but hey it is loud and gets attention. You could fit a bicycle bell on the handlebars without much trouble I think if you wanted.Overall.......what can I say. This thing is really cool. Very happy with the scooter on day 1 and the seller is great too. Will update this review with any developments as time goes on.Always wear a helmet and be seen with high viz. Be safe and keep others safe too. Have fun!
