I bought it to make masks so I don’t need 100 different stitches and it doesn’t go backwards but you can just turn the material right around and sell backwards to make a back you know a not. I hope it continues on working but I paid $25 for this and it’s worth it./it does give me problems such as tension problems-but I think this is a great machine for small project-fits in my purse so can take it with me if I’m helping a friend or something! Again, it’s worth $25 dollars. I have seen the same machine online for $100. I couldn't leave zero stars which is why I gave it one star. It only worked for two minutes. I can't return it because I took it out of the box and tried to use it. My fault. I should have read the return policy closer. It's still bad business to not allow returns. It must be still new in the box in order for customers to send it back. The only good thing about it is that it is lightweight. The only thing I'm disappointed about, even though I knew this about the item, is that it doesn't include the sewing table. However, it comes pre-threaded and is ready to go outside the box.
