Yoga for optimal fertility

Soothing Its just yoga
I really enjoyed this DVD Brenda has a really soothing voice. I was obsessed with desperate house wives in my early twenties. Brenda was the narrator and is in the first episode. I love how she describes how to breath. She compares it to dark vedar. She helped me learn to breath. This is such a soothing video. There is no music so if you can do this on a very quiet place that helps. She describes a lot of yoga lingo. I do have to watch some of the moves to get the routine. But the moves are feasible I just hope to get as flexible as her. But for a beginner I'm very flexible. She holds the poses for a really long time. So I feel like its a nice workout. So far this is my favorite fertility yoga. I have used charli sales fertility yoga video its hippish. You can find my review on this and DVD Monica Morrell fertility DVD is a nice DVD again let me say all these fertility yoga is just PLAN OLD YOGA I do like that Brenda describes how these moves help fertility. She does have you focus on rubbing your ovaries at one point. She has you meditate and place your hands in triangles over the womb. The weirdest thing is when she has you shape your hands like blades place them by the crotch area by the legs and rub. Its to warm the pelvic area. I bought this used. This is is soothing but fertility yoga is a gimmick. Its just yoga and fertility is talked about.

Good routine, best for those with some yoga experience
I bought this DVD along with Yoga Practices for Fertility, which I slightly preferred to Yoga 4 Fertility. Still, since I need a little variety, this is one that I could see using repeatedly. When I got the DVD from Amazon, I thought I recognized the instructor - turns out she is one of the characters on Desperate Housewives, the narrator. She spends a lot of time at the beginning providing background and explaining the benefit of the yoga routine. The movement section is just Brenda in what looks like her backyard. It starts out very slowly with a lot of moves to loosen the lower back and hips. Sometimes I skip that part if I'm shorter on time. There are some moves that are very specific to fertility, such as massaging your ovaries and directly energy toward your reproductive organs. At the end I feel limber and relaxed. I've been practicing yoga a few times a week for over 6 months so I found it easy to do, but complete beginners may find the routine a bit challenging. One thing I didn't like was how the menu was set up - there is a lot of talking prior to the actual yoga practice, and there isn't a way to start at the beginning of the routine without having to fast forward through Brenda talking. The other slight drawback for me was that this was very geared toward women only and I don't think my husband would have felt comfortable joining me in this practice.

Works on the second chakra.. Soothing voice
The yoga moves are actually explained in this DVD, which on the mental level, it helps you to understand what each move is for. The actual movement/practice section runs for about an hour that includes the warm up and warm down. Although there are no alternative moves for the inflexible, none of the moves are that difficult, bar one ot two, but I would recommend that you stretch as far as you can and don't push it if you can't get there. There are some yoga moves that are very familiar, if you already down some form of yoga, and there are some non yoga moves that I know I was really loosinging up my second chakra! It is a great supplement to other fertility yoga treatments and if you have an hour then this is a great option. The DVD also includes 4x one minute information about the breathe and some very basic information about the benefits of yoga. The menu allows you jump right into practice after you first seen these mini information sections.

I really enjoy this DVD!
I'm pretty new to yoga. Not that flexable and not that used to exercising. And I'm overweight, which can make things get in the way during some of these poses.BUT, I go through the DVD about everyother day. And though I may not be able to do each pose exactly the way she does, I do what I can.I Know that this program is making me feel better and I can tell I'm getting better at doing the poses every day because I'm getting stronger and more flexable.I've not tried any other fertility yoga dvds, but I'm happy with the one I bought. I find her voice to be soothing, the moves to be pretty easy for me (a beginner) and its so relaxing! I nearly always follow my afternoon yoga with a nap =)

Relaxing and a Workout!
I attend Yoga classes twice a week but I bought this video to see moves to focus on fertilty. This routine has diffcult parts but I enjoy it very much. And in the end I am totally relaxed. I would not suggest this to women who have never done Yoga before. Or if you haven't try sections of the video before doing the entire thing at once. Anything to help me relax in this process is helpful.

Difficult, even for someone who regularly practices yoga
I tried to use this DVD at least 3 times a week when I first bought it. I have been practicing yoga for over a year; I wanted to add something else to my routine to increase my chances for conceiving. However, I found a couple of the poses to be so painful for me, that I became discouraged from doing the practice. As one other reviewer noted, there are no modifications for a novice. Not as relaxing as my weekly practice with an actual instructor... but I will try to stay with it.

Very nicely done yoga session
Very nicely done yoga session. Only one disadvantage of this DVD - after watching it for the first time it is difficult to start the DVD from the beginning of the exercise (skipping the introduction) as it is located in the middle of the sector/block on the DVD so trying to get to the right spot forwarding was a challenge.

Enjoyed the practice!
I enjoyed the practice and the pace of this DVD. The instructor had a soothing voice and I found it very relaxing. I can't say if really helps with fertility and more than any other Yoga practice as I just found out I was pregnant before it arrived!(After 1 1/2 yrs trying) Perhaps all you have to do is ORDER the DVD and then you'll get pregnant!:-) Seriously though, I was already practicing a lot of Yoga and having energy healing treatments. I do believe Yoga and energy work will help. Good Luck! I liked it much better than "Fertility Yoga" with Monica Morrell. You can read my review on that one!

Best Fertility Yoga DVD Used
Having bought 2 Fertility Yoga DVDs (the other being the Mercedes Ngoh Fertility Flow Yoga one), this is the one I preferred to practice on a regular basis (I rarely used the other, even though that was the one that I'd initially been most interested in). I found Brenda Strong to be a surprisingly good presenter: I say surprisingly as, being known as an actress rather than a professional yoga instructor, I thought it would be more along the lines of a celebrity work-out dvd, but she comes across as empathetic and knowledgeable. The workout itself contains a good mix of postures, many of which I've come across elsewhere in fertility yoga classes and books, and runs at a good pace: I had previously done yoga for several years so was not a novice, but I am far from being at my best flexibly and fitness wise. I enjoyed doing it and was generally able to keep pace with the workout and by the end of it, it felt like I had actually achieved something. The DVD could be improved by having a short and a long workout option for times when you don't have a full hour to spare but would like to do a bit of practice.Does the DVD make a difference? After years of fertility treatment, I'm cynical that yoga alone will get you pregnant; however IMO anything that helps you to relax and feel like you are proactively working towards your goal cannot be harmful, particularly at what can be an especially stressful time. For me the DVD helped me manage stress throughout the process (which was eventually successful) and for that I would recommend it. Good luck to all those on the journey x

Very relaxing & flowing
I have only been using the Fertility 4 Yoga by Brenda Strong for a short time; though I have practiced yoga and am experienced at it. I found it challenging to get started as I hadn't exercised for a while and my body was fairly stiff. Once I did get started, and got used to it, I really enjoyed it; and especially the feeling of relaxation afterwards and how my body felt energised and I slept amazingly well the very first time I did the yoga DVD!When I first started using Brenda's Fertility 4 Yoga, I found my body ached so much along with my bones and I ached in places I never knew I could; though slowly after, the aches disappeared and my flexibility increased as did the enjoyment of the poses which my body really looked forward to as it felt like my insides were being massaged.I thoroughly enjoyed the poses which flowed and found my flexibility increased as time went on and I could quite happily stay in the poses for longer than showed in the DVD. I am fairly flexible naturally and perhaps the poses may be somewhat challenging for a beginner; though you do what you can and your flexibility will increase over time as you breathe into the poses. I love the Ujai breathing which helps me go more into the postures. As there is no music (Brenda performs the yoga exercises in a garden to birds chirping in the background), I tend to use my own music in the background which helps me personally. It's too early days yet as I've only just begun to see how it has affected my fertility. The ovulation cramps and menstrual cramps which I have had most months have disappeared since using the DVD which I am grateful for.I highly recommend this DVD.

This looks like it was a usa version copied for European dvd ...
This looks like it was a usa version copied for European dvd machines.Would love if she had two sessions on the disc instead of one. Her voice is calming and helps you relax. I am very chilled out after the session. Helps you sleep. Some of the poses are hard to get into and if you have stiff hamsprings or cannot touch your toes it takes a while to get into it. good overall. Pity the word fertility increases the price.

lovely practice
I really enjoyed doing this practice, its flowing and relaxing and at times i felt it was really empowering. I wouldn't say its suitable for complete beginners, but as long as you have a basic understanding of the poses and postures and how to adapt them to your own level, i think this dvd would be fine. I've been doing yoga a while but still consider myself to be beginners level, and i was able to follow it ok....once you've done it a few times you can just follow her voice and not look at screen which makes it easier. If your into yoga or relaxation, and the princicples behind it, you will enjoy this. :)
