Suburban Cat Hammock with Solid Pine Wood Stand

This was not designed very well. The material allows for the animal to basically lay on the floor rather than be suspended in air as in the picture. I added an eye-hook on either end to feed the loops through, and then a screw a little ways down the post to secure them. After having done this, the hammock works OK.My cat is just under 10 pounds.

Wish Dan had posted his review before I ordered this for my old cat. I was hoping to give her something to lay on that would keep her off hard surfaces and yet allow her to be cool as any other bedding seems to make her too hot. She weighs about 10 pounds and while in the hammock instead of suspended she was supported by the floor, not the hammock. If this skinny old cat is too much for the suspension of this product, I can only imagine what my 18 pound tomcat would do.UPDATE: I received a replacement sling from Horton Cats within days, it keeps the old girl off the floor and comfortable.

It's a solid product for our cat. The holes drilled in the wood are a little tight for the screws, but I'd rather have them too tight then too loose.

The concept is great and the reviews were good, however, after only a couple days the corner has snapped. I've attach photos of the broken loop, due to poor stitching, as well as the size of my cat that used it. Shes only a year old, 5.5lbs according to the last Vet visit. I only mention this to eliminate the thought that I had exceeded the weight limit that is stated by Horton Cats.It was just poorly made. I can overlook the haphazardly manufactured balsa wood pieces and sloppily drilled holes but at this point, it's completely unusable.UPDATE 4/20The seller has contacted me and offered a replacement, which is greatly appreciated. Very flimsy bed, my 13 pound cat broke it immediately. Recommend for kittens only!

Our two year old girl was intrigued by the cat hammock from the moment we opened the package. It was very easy to put together and feels sturdy. She was unsure of the feeling of the hammock's suspension at first but we put one of her catnip toys on it and it was off to the races! She naps in it often during the day and sometimes sleeps in it at night. She doesn't always take to new things (the deluxe cat bed that she's been actively ignoring since we bought it) so we're really pleased she likes the hammock so much. Plus it's made in the USA!!

This item is cheaply made and definitely not worth $38.

I ordered the Suburban Cat Hammock for my foster kittens so that they could get in and out of it easily. It was easy to assemble. They use it for more than just sleeping! It's a trampoline, it's a jungle gym, it's a fort! They love it. More than one could easily share if they wanted to do so. I put a blanket over top of it for even more accessibility and in case it got dirty.
