Your best choice would be a 3 strand twisted rope like a polypro combination. **Q: How well does it release tension? I need to be able to bring it to high tension then back that tension out.** A: Well it can release tension just not very well. I can do it but it requires lots of fingers and two hands. I pulled up 4/0 aluminum wire mid span and spliced it back together. Needless to say it has its limitations. They could improve it in the payout part of the tool. But still a very handy tool in certain situations. **Q: Where is it made** A: The box it came in said "made in the u.s.a." **Q: Should I buy puller with rope or buy without rope and buy better rope?** A: I found that "better rope" was expensive when I ended up at a local Marine/Boat supply chain and paid more for the rope than the puller-rope combo.
