Yes, there are no weights
I somehow did not quite grasp that there are no weights that come with this product. Upon reviewing my order I see now I was quite foolish to order it. But those weights in the picture look so "there" that I thought this is great and clicked away to order. I read the headline of the product to mean the weight of the handle was not included in the total weight of the kettlebell. The real problem comes in the simple solution of finding the weights that should go with this item. I went to a local sports store and did not find any weights that had a small enough diameter to fit the crossbar that holds the weights.I found the site of the seller and still was a little confused.I ended up just getting the Marcy set at the local store to get this part of the job done. The Marcy set at the local store was $79.99 and is very attractive. Also, by the time I would have purchased this item and found and bought any weights at some store, it would be quite an expensive item. The seller would probably increase his profits by making the picture more clear and then offering the weights separately. They said on their site they hate charging the customer for the shipping for the weights.Having said all this, if you are willing to go the last mile with this product I think you will be happy with it. That means finding satisfactory plates or ordering off Amazon directly from the seller's site.

Is it worth the money?
If you are planning to be a casual user of kettlebells and you already have a standard set of weights (not Olympic style) then this might be the product you need. I bought my kettlestack several years ago and it is still part of my arsenal of weight lifting equipment. The handle is more comfortable than the cast iron kettlebells; the product is durable (I've had mine for several years). The change weight time is about the same as weight sets with the screw on bolts. (I bought a smaller screw for my kettlestack at the hardware store for a smaller number of weights.) I do own a kettlebell by Pavel from dragondoor which is premium priced. The cast kettlebell has a nice balance to it when you are swinging it around; the kettlestack does not have the same balanced feel. I own a couple of small kettlebells from Sports Authority and are also available at Amazon, that I swing around for improving my tennis game. I also take one of them on walks; I really enjoy using it!

Not bad at all...
Pretty nice product. I don't have a lot of experience with "regular" kettlebells, so it is tough to do a direct comparison, but this set up works pretty well so far. It does seem to have the feel of regular kettlebells. I haven't gotten to really heavy weights, so can't comment on how bulky it may get with bigger weight loads. The construction is solid, but I would agree with a previous review that it seems a bit expensive for what I would think it would cost to make. It does look like it will last a while. Buying or finding standard weights is not a problem, they are fairly cheap and can be found at yard sales, craigslist, ect. Overall, as it has allowed me to start and progress through 2 levels of weights, and the money I have spent on the handle and weights is still less than what I would have spent on buying a starter bell and then having to trade up.

Expensive but worth it
Product is a little expensive for what you get, however when you consider what it would cost to buy different weights of standard kettlebells it does seem worth it. I actually bought two so I could have different weighted kettles ready for workouts without having to change up midway.Pros, you can add the weight you want and increase it as you get stronger. Construction seems sturdy as one reviewer said he had his for two years. Cheaper than buying several kettlebells of different weights.Cons, Like other reviewers pointed out, about 25 or 30 dollars would be a fairer price for this item. Changing the weight takes a fair amount of time since the plates are held on by long bolts. The handle is thicker than most kettlebells so if you have small hands like I have, getting a good grip for some exercises can be hard.Overall I am pleased with this item.

Not a good replacement
I was pretty excited when I purchased this, trying to save money on buying different size kettle bells but this is not a suitable replacement. With this every time you change weights you have to take off your weights, put on spacers just perfectly, do your exercise, and then find a way to make it less destructive to your body. The biggest problem I found when you finally got it put together is when you're doing cleans or any exercise where it ends up against your forearm, especially when swinging, it would end up making it extremely sore, from all the weight essentially of the bell on your forearm essentially in one small point, where the center weight is solely touching your arm. I tried putting numerous weights together to distribute that weight, especially for cleans which was the worst of the exercises, but it did not work. Also, when you do a military press or like exercise above your shoulder the weight slips across your forearm as you push up. Unlike a normal bell that slips smoothly as you push, helping your core compensate, this jars you when it finally slips and then swings outward and then to its new resting point. I tried wrapping a small towel around it to help with this but that was garbage. I understand people trying to save money but you just can't beat a real bell.
