In addition, Guedel Airways can serve as a bite guard in the endotracheal intubated patient. This prevents damage to the Edotracheal tube. In the case of the tubes of the Horn Medical Guedel Airways Set, the conventional separate bite block can be dispensed with due to the composition of two materials which have different properties. The flexible, soft part of the tube is inserted into the pharynx. The stable, solid area remains in the oral cavity and prevents the tube from being squeezed out in the case of convulsive patients. The Horn Medical Guedel Airways Set contains six tubes in sizes 00, 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Color coding is used to clearly identify the sizes. Each tube is individually packaged for hygienic reasons. They are what they are.
If you are trained to use OPAs then there isn;'t much to say about these. They are good quality, though, with the additional colour-coded smooth tip to ease insertion. A great price for the full set.
