VIrginia Wine Enthusiasts:
One of the best books ever written about the Virginia wine industry and it's history. I refer to this book now, even though I read it when it was first published. It is an organized, chronological story of the history of wines in this state. It gives the reader a quick lesson that is neither snobbish nor uninformed. A great read for anyone new or informed about wine in this region, which is often underestimated!

This author is funny, especially if the reader is from Albemarle Co. I learned to appreciate folks who grow grapes!
Condition damaged via USPS damage and poor packaging. Asked for reduction and got it. Seller could be more customer responsive as I only heard about credit from Amazon.Book left me wanting to know more about growing grapes! Author nearly gossips, which is not expected and refreshing! I was surprised at how many characters I know.

Wasn't my favorite
I like the idea of the book, but the title is misleading and the book is not well-organized. The book goes from talking about the oldest wineries and vineyards to mexican workers to Virginia Wine Board troubles and successes to other wineries and vineyards. In addition, the wineries and vineyards highlighted in this book are the well-known ones, rather than discussing wineries and vineyards in Virginia as a whole. What I am getting at is the book is logically disorganized with many, many spelling errors. I believe that the disorganization and spelling errors is a good sign that this book was written in a hurry without much thought or editing. One more comment on this book is the title should be Virginia wineries and vineyards, because it doesn't really talk about the history of the wineries and vineyards, but mostly focuses on the vineyard and winery owners' personalities rather than fully focus on history of Virginia wine.
