Nice mats - the gross smell can be removed!
I bought these mats for my 2012 Honda CRV. I was aware that they might smell, but nothing could have prepared me for the odor that they have. This is not an odor that resembles rubber, but rather, they smell as though they were drenched in some sort of disgusting fuel. It is absolutely horrendous, and there is no way that I would put them in my new car without first removing the smell. Even touching them made my hands smell and gave me a headache. The good news is that the smell can be mostly removed, which I accomplished by using some simple "home remedies" that I found on the internet. I'm not an expert, so it took some trial and error. Here is what I did:I started by dumping white vinegar on them and then rinsing the mat with water, which only helped slightly. I then dumped rubbing alcohol on them, and let them sit outside for a couple of days. This helped a lot, but they still had a slight smell. This morning I put them in a bathtub for about an hour with soap and about a 1/2 gallon of white vinegar, and the smell was almost completely removed. They still had a mild odor, so I then dumped listerine on them. That definitely made them smell minty (much improved over the nasty fuel smell), and almost completely removed any lingering fuel smell. I then put baking soda on them (which made them less minty smelling), and let them sit for another hour with baking soda. I rinsed them off (you need to scrub off the baking soda or it will leave a white residue), let them sit in the sun, and the smell is mostly gone, although they do still smell a bit minty from the Listerine,The result: If I stick my nose close to the the mats there is a mild odor, but it smells more like rubber than the nasty fuel smell. I now have my mats in the car, and they look great. I also have some baking soda in my car, which I hope will help absorb any remaining smell. They do not completely cover the carpet (they aren't wide enough), but it is a great improvement over the carpet mats that came with the car. I will likely purchase the Honda CRV mats for the winter to ensure that the entire floor is covered. However, for the price, this is an excellent start to protecting your carpets. They are a nice looking rubber mat.

Bubble Formed in Driver Side Mat
These floor mats will do the trick. I bought these to replace my old carpet mats in my car as they were starting to smell a bit due to moisture and I wanted something that would be a bit easier to dry out.SIZE/FIT: They fit pretty well in my Nissan Altima 2001 although they aren't quite the size of my original floor mats. These cover the floor for the most part but did leave a few inches on each side of them. The mats have stayed in place well and do not shift around at all under your feet.APPEARANCE: These are nice black mats that have cutouts and texture on them. The bubble look on the front two mats looks a little odd to me as I would prefer the design to be uniform but the other grooves definitely help catch stones and other things you bring in on your shoes.DURABILITY: These mats seem to be good quality and should hold up well. They are not the thickest material, but they are definitely not flimsy. These should last a few years and I expect to get some good use out of them.OTHER: There was a bit of a rubber smell for about the first week I have had these mats in my car. It wasn't overwhelming but it was noticeable when first getting into my car each time. It has been gradually lessening however.I would recommend these floor mats as they will definitely serve their purpose. They seem durable enough and although I don't love the design, that's really not the most important thing I realize to critique in floor mats. The one thing I would consider is that depending on your car size (anything bigger than a Nissan Altima) these might start to be a little bit on the smaller side for your car. Please comment with any questions.Edit: After using this now a few months, the driver side floor mat has a "bubble" that has formed right in the middle of the mat. I can also report that the smell of these floor mats persisted for at least 2-3 weeks before going away. I can no longer say that I would recommend purchasing this particular set of mats due to the short life before something happening to them along with the initial smell.

Great protection for your car!
I bought these first for my mazda speed3, and then put into my honda civic. I live in an area where is snows a lot during the winter, and my carpet mats would get mildew and gross. They would never truly dry and just stink all the time. I replaced them with these rubber mats and they work well! It was easy to cut them so they can fit pretty much any car. They help keep my carpet dry and clean! They made my car smelled like rubber hardcore for a few days, but the smell faded. The only complaint i have is they have no way to secure the driver side mat to the floor. Most cars have a hook to keep the mat from constantly sliding up while driving. These do not. I tried to cut a small hole to secure to my floor hook, but the hole quickly stretched large and ceased to hold the mat in place. Now I have to readjust my mat every couple days. A small annoyance, but no big. All in all, these mats are a good bang for your buck. Id buy them again!
