Overview:This is a very bright flashlight that won't break the bank.Housing:It feels like it is machined well and all the threading is smooth with no grittiness or squeaking.It feels very solid. The switch can be pressed easily, it does have a nice click to it. If storing it in a backpack or somewhere where the button may get pressed twisting the head of the light from the battery tube a little works as a mechanical lock out.The tail cap will also unscrew which provides access to screws for the battery housing. A small piece of paper or something else could also be stored in this section.It is much lighter than I expected. I also have a thorfire BLF Q8, this light is about the same size, just a little longer and wider but much lighter in weight making it a great option for keeping in a backpack.The anodizing looks good, from what I can tell it is not paint and won't scratch or chip easily. The gold color is not cheap or cheesy looking like gold often is, it looks better in real life than it does in the amazon pictures. The blue highlights on the bezel and the button are nice touches.The button is clear and you can see some circuitry inside which is kind of cool. It also has a green LED that lights the button while the flashlight is running.One thing to note is that there are no o-rings so it is water resistant, not water proof.Batteries:It takes 4 18650 batteries in parallel. I was able to run it with four 10 amp discharge batteries as well as high discharge batteries and the brightness was about the same.Beam:Up close the beam pattern looks a bit like a flower with a lot of pedals because of how many LEDs and reflector cones there are, once there is some distance the beam smooths out. The temperature is a cool white leaning towards neutral white. While it is a cool white it is not blue which is good.It has a smooth reflector and the lens came scratch free and clear. There is some depth to the reflector however this light is best used as a flood light rather than a spot light. The throw on this light is not very far (100 meters) but realistically it has more than enough through for most tasks. Flood lights are typically more useful than spotlights. If you want to light up as much of your immediate surroundings as possible this is a great light.While this light is advertised as being 12,000 lumens I do not think this is an accurate rating. Testing done by other people rated it around 3,800 lumens. Comparing it to other flashlights I have I would say 3,800 lumens is a more accurate rating. While the lumen rating may be a bit inflated, it is still a very bright light and you would be hard pressed to find a brighter one this cheap let along one with as good of quality.User Interface (UI):Everything is controlled by a single button on the side of the light. The button lights up green while the light is turned on.The user interface is very easy. It does not have a lot of features which can be a good thing. You can figure this light out without a manual. Some lights can be overly complicated and frustrate users so finding a light as bright as this that is simple to use is refreshing.Pushing the button will switch it on to high, pushing the button again will switch it to low, pushing it a third time will power it off. Holding the button down with turn on the strobe. The strobe can be turned on from either off, high, or low. There is no memory of the previous mode used and it will always default to high.While it is nice to have a simple UI it would be nice if it had a few more features such as more brightness levels, memory mode, the ability to turn the light off without cycling to low, and a standby mode where the button would stay illuminated while the light is off.Because there is only high and low cycling through to turn it off is not a big deal. I like that it doesn't force you to cycle through strobe.While those features would be nice to have, they would also drive up the cost of the light. What it lacks in features it more than makes up for in quality and brightness. Being able to get a high quality flashlight this bright for so cheap is worth the limited features.If you are looking for an easy to use high quality bright flood light this is a great option.

This product arrived with fake cree LED's (Latticebright) and the output is no where CLOSE to 12000 lumens. This is complete trash.

I purchased this as an emergency flashlight for my car. I wanted something rechargeable, but didn't want to have to worry about the batteries draining over time without use. It turns out that lithium ion batteries provide exactly what I was looking for. I also wanted something the right size. This flashlight is perfect to place in a door cup holder, because it's diameter is large enough that it doesn't slide around, but the length is short enough that it doesn't stick out above the the trim. Overall, it is perfect for my use.

I'm a busy man but I care about my fellow shoppers, especially when they need practical tools for living every day life. I don't write a review until I've really used something for long enough to get acquainted with the thing I'm reviewing. This flashlight is by far the brightest I've ever had and I need that since I live in a very rural area where there are Cougars and Bears that could easily kill me. Seriously, I'm quite glad to have this by the front door. It will cast a beam all the way down the street and light up a Bear's eyes from 400 feet away. Never let this bad boy point at anyone or your dog 'cause it is an actual 1,500 lumens which is why I chose it. You could stop an intruder with this "light gun". No B.S. I'm very careful with it. Stand it on it's end during a power outage and it will light up the whole room ! Now all I need is a holster to hold it while I deal with some situation where I need my hands free. If this were a head-worn lamp it would be a safety tool of my dreams. I have other devices that use the 18650 Lithium 3.7 volt batteries so I already had those and I have been served well by them so I recommend investing in 18650's and an appropriate charger.

This is one bad boy flashlight, very strong light, so bright and lights up the whole back yard and neighbors yard, has 3 modes, gets a little warm if on too long, it only takes 18650 batteries, 4 of them at a time. You can buy them on Amazon also, love this flashlight, it's made well and kicks butt, you will love this flashlight, it's impressive. Comes in a nice thick cardboard box with directions with an extra rubber ring seal for waterproofing, also has contact information with the directions. Can't go wrong with this flashlight unless you put the wrong batteries in it, don't buy the cheap 18650 type, buy the ones I recommended and you will have some big light. Flood light type but throws the light a far ways, not the zoom type far away but you won't need to zoom with this much light. Buy this one.

Super heavy duty. The gold anodized finish looks nice and appears to be quite durable. The best thing is the fit and finish is so much better then a lot of other flashlights I’ve bought in the past. Overall a really nice flashlight.

I owns many flashlights, and this is my favorite one. this flashlight is very well made, crafted from machined aluminum, extremely tough and durable, I can't believe it is only 30 dollars. it's highest setting is brighter than my car's headlights. it is light weight and feels comfortable to holding on hand for long time. A perfect flashlight for home, car, hiking and fishing.

This is a very bright light. Very impressed with the brightness and it’s a very nice heavy sturdy light. It actually had a red light that shows when it needs to charge which is very good. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it fell just once and now it’s broken. I feel it could have been more durable.
