Projector is relatively bright, can still be used with say a night light or closet light on in the room if needed. Darker is better of course. Picture is scaled by distance and able to be made very large while staying quite clear on a just a blank wall would probably be very clear on an actual projector screen. Fan is pretty quiet, can be heard but its not distracting and the volume goes loud enough that you don't have to strain to hear over it. Small text is a little blurry would not recommend for presentations with lots of fine print but for watching netflix on a 100" screen it does a good job. The only issue I've noticed is that streaming lower quality video sometimes leaves a very noticeable and distracting gap in colors. Kind of like an old 256 color monitor. But if your internet is fast enough to support hq/hd streaming, this shouldn't be an issue. All in all for the price I am quite satisfied and would recommend this projector.

You will love this projector as long as your expectations are set correctly. I was not about to go out and buy a $500 projector. I needed something for backyard, outdoor family movie nights. This little projector is priced nicely, has a small footprint, is easy to use, has all the inputs I'll ever need and puts out a decent picture. The sound is not so awesome but we hook it up to a decent portable speaker and it is perfect for our purposes. The shape is a little funky - you can't stack anything (like a small speaker) on top of it but that's probably ok. The lamp gets pretty hot when it's working so best not to have anything on top or right next to it anyway, I suppose. I have only had this about a month so I cannot speak to the longevity of this projector but I have used it twice outside and once inside to test it and it works well so far. Very pleased!

First...just to get this out of the way...this is an $80 projector. If you think that this thing is going to compare to projectors costing 3-8 times as much...it isn't. However, if you accept what it is, then it is a excellent value. I set it up for a "kid cave" and my 11 yo son loves it. We threw an "AppleTV" on it and it works well. As many have mentioned, the image is "1080p", however, that is scaled and not true HD. The edges tend to be a bit blurry and washed out, but again...$80! I am sure that it will be fine projecting on any white surface, but I recommend getting a cheap screen such as  Excelvan 72 Inch, 16:9 PVC Fabric Matte With 1.1 Gain Projector Projection Screen  to go with your cheap projector. A screen and darkened room is a must for this. It is not super bright. So, overall...I am quite pleased. But let me reiterate...$80!!!

I purchased this product for my child to use. Due to the low price of this projector, I was not expecting a whole lot. When I received it, I was pleasantly surprised. If you want a projector to use to watch movies and videos, this is what you're looking for. It only works in a dark room. Any lights on in the room will wash out the screen. In near total darkness, the picture quality is surprisingly good. I would recommend this product for use home use.

After receiving this little projector, I was immediately impressed with how easy it was to set up and begin using. Is this projector an HD powerhouse? No, but it is absolutely FANTASTIC for what it is marketed for. This projector does not claim to be HD and has a native resolution that is clearly posted, so don't expect HD. We have it as a portable family projector that works great in dim to dark rooms and the kids love it. For the price paid, I couldn't be more pleasantly surprised. The picture looks great even on a white sheet on the wall and has lots of input options and plays videos directly from an SD card. If you want a cheap option for a home theater projector, you really can't go wrong with this little guy!

So my buddy and I were looking for an inexpensive projector for the back yard so the kids can hang out and watch movies outside. We didn't want to spend a bunch of money. We got this one and let me tell you, WE LOVE IT. It works flawlessly, the only thing I would recommend is getting some speakers for it. The picture is amazing, it's so much fun to see the kids seating outside watching the movie on the projector with the fire going. We have had a ton of wonderful experiences thanks to this projector. I recommend it to anyone looking for a projector. We watched the super bowl on it and the quality was great. It works for what ever you need it for. Best thing I've purchased in awhile.

Works great in a dark room. Runs cool. Resolution could be better, but good for the price. Like most things, you get what you pay for.I bought it for a special project, and it looks like it will do what I need. I wouldn't recommend it to replace a 50" or bigger lcd or led tv, as you won't be happy, but for the kids room watching cartoons or showing movies outside to the neighbors, you'll be happy.

I was a little hesitant buying this projector (09/04/15 because of the lower lumens of 1000, but figured I'd give it a shot. I was very surprised how good it really was for what I needed it for. I'm using it for a AtmosFX display for a Halloween party we are having this year. I set it up for a test and it worked perfect for the display. It's bright for being 1000 lumens projector. I haven't tried it for a movie, but I'm sure it will do the job. Also, it was very easy to set up. Pretty much plug and play. I also purchased their 2400 lumens projector for another display and I'll be purchasing another 1000 lumens since I know now it's a good projector. Thank you Taotaole..!
