I tend to use the EOS M for a rear angle and, with batteries, found it frustrating that sometimes I'd have to change battery mid set and get things rolling again.With this adapter and a 20,000mAh powerbank I've shot 5 hours of footage and only gone down 1/4 of the indicator dots on the bank. When used with magic lantern's auto restart function you can film for hours. My initial test left it running overnight for 7.5 hours and it was still going when I woke up. I can now suspend my camera from a beam in a venue, hit record before doors open and have the whole thing captured at the end of the night.I've not noticed any side affects of using this cable - I have the camera set to turn the screen off when filming so heat doesn't seem to be an issue (although I've only tried it during winter, to be fair, but indoors in warm venues). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job, but adds ground hum to the audio with plug provided. The output voltage measured at 8.09V which appears to be fine for running my Canon EOS M50 however regardless of whether I use the provided 3A USB power plug or my own 4A one there was a noticeable ground hum on the audio portion of videos. The hum is not out of control and very consistent so should be removable via editing tools but it would be nice not to have to do this. If audio is not important (time-lapses for instance) or you are happy to clean the audio in editing then this is fine.Update: - No hum if using a portable battery ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ideal when long-term power needed *by M***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2020* Arrived way ahead of the estimate and worked exactly as described. The dummy battery fits perfectly and can be used with the Quick Charge power supply in the box but I've tried it using a Ravpower 20000mha QC3 compatible battery pack which is perfect for this. My main use is to power the Canon M50 to use it as a web cam, now that Canon has released software to allow for that, but this setup now gives the option to have emergency power available when out and about or for doing time-lapse sequences where I can now be in the middle of nowhere but run the camera continuously without having to change batteries.
