While I was reading this book I was bothered because of what I thought was the inappropriate plural that was used for octopus; I always thought it was octopi. Since I have faith in this series and its author, Natalie Lunis, I googled to see if I was wrong and this is what I found:There are three plural forms of octopus: octopuses, octopi, and octopodes. Currently, octopuses is the most common form in the UK as well as the US; octopodes is rare, and octopi is often objectionable.Yeah! Love learning something new every day – even if it proves me mistaken.
