Review: small, compact - I lived on a Shoebox compressor for ten years and it finally gave up the ghost. I don’t fill SCBA tanks, just straight to the gun cylinder. If you are filling directly to the gun, the product is perfect. So far the quality control and engineering seems very good. This unit has delivered as advertised and has worked perfectly. I have read the quality of grease in the gear drive is not good but that was 3 year old reviews. I only hope they have gone to something better by now? The GX folks need to re-write the manual because you can basically throw it away, but other than that nitpick I can recommend this product.
Review: 4 year review!!! - So I am writing this review after 4 full years of ownership. I have had no issues at all, and she still works great. Now, this could be because I have a protocol I use and also, I am not a really heavy user (I’m of the opinion that if you’re going to be using something A LOT, you should get a bigger better unit). So I use the unit to fill a 100 cu in. bottle to 4500 psi, and I use that bottle to refill an Air Force talon pistol, a Benjamin Akela, and a Diana bandit and stormrider. So I’ve probably filled the bottle from 180 bar to 310 bar maybe two dozen times since I’ve owned it. My protocol, knowing heat is what destroys these things, is to run it for 5 minutes, then let it cool to touch with fans running (roughly 3 minutes) then run 5 minutes. I’m literally doing this right now as I’m writing this review. It takes about 20-25 minutes to fill (so 4-5 cycles). Do I think I can run it longer? Absolutely, because after 5 minutes of running I can put my hand on top of the cylinder head and it’s not too hot that I even have to remove my hand. I’d bet it can run 10 minutes no prob and would be just fine, but I am going for longevity here. I think 4 years without any maintenance is pretty damn good.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ exceeded expectations.

Surpassed expectations. I selected this one because of the maintenance simplicity of an air-cooled motor. It reviewed well and I expected it to work well. But I thought it would be a lot slower and less capable than it is, even based on the reviews. Examples: it filled a 213 cc tank to 3000 PSI in about 5min. It filled a 68ci bottle to 4500 PSI in 18 minutes. (This is how the bottles are labeled, I’m too lazy to convert.) The manual directs you to run it for a max of 15-20 minutes and to let the fans cool it down for 5 minutes between uses and to let the fans run for 5 min after use, before disconnecting power. (The fans always run as long as power is connected.) It isn’t silent, but it’s very quiet for an air compressor. Not heavy and easy to carry. Great that you can power it off a car battery. One drawback is I had a good bit of moisture in the 68ci bottle. I haven’t emptied and opened the regulator on the 213cc bottle. It seems that maybe some moisture can condense inside the hoses between uses? I have been pressurizing the hose with the cap on it, then blowing out the air through the bleeder valve. It’s very wet, but after a couple bursts, it’s dry; that’s when I fill a bottle.
