Q: Can I return this if I opened the plastic packaging? I thought this was an eyelet puncher

Q: What are the dies made of? Zinc, like the corner rounding and other WeR tools?

They are metal......I don't know if they are zinc

Q: What is the maximum thickness the punch can accommodate for media (paper, chipboard, etc.)? Please don't answer if you don't know.

The project I'm working on right now I have 2 pieces of lightweight chipboard stacked. One is a template for aligning the hole for the bottom piece. Punches through easily. Hope this helps.

I have not, but I doubt it will work. It is not as powerful as a crop-a-dial. For fabric, I use a Crop-A-DIAL POWER Punch.
