They are made in China and have the capacity rating of 2000mAh. They are NOT as good as Sanyo eneloop batteries.ASIN:B0030T1NEA AmazonBasics AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries- The second version of AmazonBasics batteries came in white wrappers. They are made in Japan and also have the capacity rating of 2000mAh. They are (according to me) rebranded 2nd-gen Sanyo eneloop, so you can expect at least 1500 cycles lifespan.ASIN:B00CWNMV4G AmazonBasics Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries- The third version is also black but called 'high-capacity'. They are (according to me) rebranded Sanyo XX. They are rated 2400mAh, but actual capacity is around 2550mAh, just like Sanyo XX. The rated lifespan of the XX is only 500 cycles.ASIN:B00HZV9TGS AmazonBasics High-Capacity Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries **Q: Describing a battery as "high capacity": does not inform the buyer. 1500 mAh? 2000? 2500? Why are you hiding this spec?!?** A: Generally, you have to search the cell description to find the rating. There isn't an industry standard as regards what constitutes a "high capacity" cell, so you will see it roughly corresponds to AA cells of 2000 mah and higher. Rarely do AA cells ever exceed 2700 mah, although a few vendors make such claims, which are mostly found to be bogus. **Q: can i use my eastshine s2 charger? or must use your charger?** A: Yes you can use the eastshine S2 charger. These batteries are NI-MH. **Q: are this AA batteries fatter then Alkaline batteries ? i use eneloop lite where i cant use regular eneloops due to size restrictions** A: Those AmazonBasics High-Capacity AA batteries are slightly fatter than regular eneloop cell, which are alreaddy slightly fatter than alkaline AA. So if you have to resort to using eneloop-lite in battery compartments, then those high-capacity cells are not going to fit. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cheap but not lacking *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 12 September 2026* Amazon excells again.Bought a charger and needed some batteries so went for these. They charge fast and last a decent amount of time. That's it really.Buy Amazon basics if you want cheap well made items. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bang for buck *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 16 January 2026* I’ve been genuinely impressed with Amazon Basics AA and AAA batteries. They deliver consistently strong, reliable power across everything I’ve used them in — from TV remotes and wireless keyboards to game controllers, smart home sensors, and kids’ toys. Performance has been comparable to far more expensive branded batteries, with no noticeable drop-off in power or premature failures. What really stands out is their reliability over time. They hold charge well in low-drain devices, don’t leak, and feel dependable even when left installed for months. For everyday household use, they simply work exactly as you’d expect a good battery to work — no fuss, no surprises. The value proposition is exceptional. You get dependable performance at a price that makes sense, especially if you go through batteries regularly. They’re ideal for bulk buying without feeling like you’re compromising on quality.Overall, these are batteries you can buy with confidence. Practical, reliable, and excellent value — Amazon Basics AA and AAA batteries have become my default choice and I see no reason to switch back to more expensive alternatives. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Little Pricey but a Quality Battery Set *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 February 2026* The Amazon Basics 16 Pack Rechargeable AA NiMH High Capacity Batteries, 2400 mAh, have been a dependable choice for us so far.In terms of performance, they have done exactly what we need them to do. They arrived pre charged, charged up again without issue, and have successfully held their charge through repeated use. We have recharged them many times, and they continue to perform consistently. For everyday household devices like remotes, wireless accessories, and small electronics, they have been reliable and durable.Compared to many other well known brands, the pricing is better. Right now, this set works out to roughly 1 € per battery, which is not unreasonable for 2400 mAh rechargeables. I still feel they sit about 15 to 20 percent higher than they ideally should. Sustainable products often appeal to people who care about reducing waste, though the upfront cost can be a real barrier for many households. More competitive pricing would make it easier for families to justify switching from disposable batteries, even if the long term savings are clear.Build quality feels solid, and we have not experienced early failures or noticeable degradation beyond what you would normally expect over time. The 2400 mAh capacity is strong for higher drain devices, and they have handled regular use well.Overall, these are dependable rechargeable batteries that perform as advertised. With slightly sharper pricing, they would be an even stronger value. As it stands, I would still buy them again if needed. ## Frequently Bought Together - Amazon Basics Rechargeable AA Batteries, 12-Pack, 2400 mAh, NiMH High-Capacity Batteries, Recharge up to 400x Times, Pre-Charged - Amazon Basics Rechargeable AAA Batteries, 12-Pack, 850 mAh, NiMH High-Capacity Batteries, Recharge up to 500x Times, Pre-Charged --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/157891590-amazon-basics-12-pack-rechargeable-aa-nimh-high-capacity-batteries](https://www.desertcart.be/products/157891590-amazon-basics-12-pack-rechargeable-aa-nimh-high-capacity-batteries) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-29*
