Harissa is a hot chili pepper paste, native to North Africa. The main ingredients are roasted red peppers, Baklouti peppers spices and herbs such as garlic, caraway seeds, coriander seeds, carvi. Tunisia is the biggest exporter of prepared harissa and UNESCO lists it as part of Tunisia's Intangible Cultural Heritage. How to eat it ? Harissa is a hot sauce paste, it is best eaten diluted in extra virgin olive oil using any kind of bread but best with baguettes. You can eat it in a sandwich as well with olive oil, sardines or tuna.
