TruVibe 100% Organic Raw Chia Seeds, 1lb (16oz)

I'm picky about my food and as such I'm always looking for organic and minimally processed foods. When I was in search for some chia seeds I came upon this company. I opted to try them because they're not only organic, but they're a great value with the price. I've been adding a spoonful to my bottle of water and shaking it up. Good stuff. They are just as great as the more expensive brands. I recommend these. Cute packaging, too.

I bought these based solely on price. As the days have gone by, I went to their Website to read more about the company and I must say, TruVibe is a very conscious, socially aware company.I also saw on the back of the package the California warning about cancer and I will admit, it gave me pause to see a cancer warning. Here is a response from the company TruVibe, about the warning, which I have found very helpful:"That warning pertains to California Prop 65, which is an outdated law going back to the 1980's pertaining to heavy metals. The language is 30 years old and comes specifically from California lawmakers. The reality is our Chia has been tested for heavy metals and technically doesn't need to be labeled, but there are so many litigious people out there we decided to label our package anyway. Some litigious individuals in California started suing food companies in the past few years and now it's become mandatory to label products sold in California. Our Chia is 100% Organic and the highest quality on the market today. There is nothing added to it and we have not been cited for any violations."TruVibe offers other products, and I am going to buy some of their other food items. This chia seed is a great product, with great packaging, at a great price. They also give back through donations.I use the chia primarily in soups and stews as a garnish. I do not actually cook with them, but they do get heated in the soup. They retain their crunch, but become gelatinous, which makes the soup and stew thicker, which I like.I do not work for TruVibe and I haven't gotten any freebies from them to write this review.

So I am a huge eater of chia seeds and have tried many brands and have found TruVibe to be one of the best. Although I prefer HealthWorks because theirs are way cheaper and just as good. However with these TruVibe ones they are vibrant in that deep black color and taste the way chia seeds should. They gel up nicely when added to water or milk and taste wonderful. I like how the bag itself is resealable so the omega 3 fats don't go rancid as quickly plus the freshness and taste stay nice. The bag is also durable and I have never gotten one with a hole in it and it feels pretty strong. They are also certified organic and free of chemicals and pesticides which is really nice. These seeds are loaded with omega 3's, fiber, some protein, and provide lots of energy to power you through your day. Overall these chia seeds are awesome and I highly recommend them, but if your looking for just as good chia seeds but at a cheaper cost I recommend HealthWorks instead.

I was reviewing nutrition information on package and found a warning. It said there were chemicals in this product according to the state of California that could cause cancer and or birth defects and reproductive problems. Why would anyone be allowed to say their product is organic and carcinogenic at the the same time?

There is a warning on the package that the contents contain CARCINOGENS. Product is grown in a foreign country that uses pesticides that were banned in the USA

The chia seeds seem great and are packaged very well. However, the warning label on the back freaked me out completely. It is not on any other chia seeds I have purchased. It gives a cancer warning. I am not at all sure why chia seeds would need this kind of warning but it really bothered me. I have used them anyway but will probably not buy this brand again unless someone can give me a reasonable explanation of this super weird warning.

If zero stars was an option, that qould be the rating. Seller / Amazon delivered on 4/28/20 a bag of product with a "best before" date of 3/13/20 and shows it is not eligible for return/replacement.They also intentionally placed their bar code over the expiration date. Well done ripoff artists.

My family and I are new to the benefits of eating chia seeds and we decided to jump on the bandwagon using this product. I have to admit it was a little daunting at first, as the seeds kept getting into our teeth, and the slightly slimy film they get after being soaked with a liquid was a little offsetting. But the benefits of these little powerhouse seeds cannot be denied so I am committed to eat them daily. My two college-aged sons also feel like they have helped to give them more energy and I am glad to see them eat something that will help nourish them too. Great product and price, so I will continue to purchase this product.
