Yes, the pocket is on the other side of the hand bag. The pocket is 7 inches long. I use it for my keys and phone. It is a nice hand bag.

Q: Does this leather handbag work well?

I've had it for a few months but I don't use it everyday. IMO it is well constructed and is a good overall medium sized bag. It has a middle aligned zipper pouch that I am not in love with. I prefer to have an open cavity style of bag, but it does work for me if I put small items in that middle zipper pouch. I find that I use the long strap on the bag when I am shopping, so I try to reduce the weight inside it for that. Hope this answer is helpful.
