2XUCompression Calf Guards

Best New Purchase
I bought these 2XU Non-Stirrup Compression Calf Guard in a Medium. I wasn't sure about the sizing I was right on the border with a small. But thought I would size up I didn't want them to cut off my circulation. I am pleased with the sizing choice. They are a firm fit but not too tight. I love that they are the LYCRA material which is very smooth and soft against the skin.I bought these for two reasons, I am currently injured recovering from a ruptured achilles tendon, and I am lying down a good portion of the day. So I wanted to have these on to help with circulation.Second reason is when I do go back to work, I have a job where I stand for my entire shift.I can't believe I never bought any of these sooner. Once I go back to work I will be buying many more pairs of these calf guards. I love the black but will also buy them in other colours. They are very comfortable I even forgot I had them on.I also like that they are SPF 50+ always a good bonus. They look very nice on.My only complaint for these is that I wish they were a few inches longer. My legs are very long, and it would be nice if I had the sleeve extend a bit further down my ankle.I like the way that these sleeves come packaged as well.Awesome purchase, they are exactly as shown in the picture and even after the first use i can say these are great for me.

My calves are no longer my Achilles heel
I do a combination of steady runs (about 20 miles a week) and bursts (football weekly). Regardless of which one it is, my calves are typically my weak link. In fact, both my calves cramped about 6 miles into a 12 mile Tough Mudder race a few years ago since the trails were rougher than expected. As a result, I stretch my calves almost daily. That is, until I started wearing calf sleeves. I bought several products but I like this one the best. Here are my thoughts:PROS- Works great! My calves don't cramp, even when I skip stretching for a few days.- Fits well but you must follow the sizing chart. My calves measured 15.25" so I reluctantly bought SMALL (listed as 14-15.5). I'm 5'8, 165 ibs and don't wear anything small but I followed their chart. They are a little snug but I don't believe they would work well if they were loose-fitting.- Moisture isn't an issue and dries quickly in wet conditions.CONS- Wish they were longer. When I pull these up to right under my knee, the bottoms are a few inches from my ankle, which doesn't look great in my opinion. I have pair from another brand that are two inches longer and look much better to me.- They are extremely difficult for me to remove since they are so tight on me. After about ten uses, they still seem fine but long-term durability is a concern.OVERALLBottom line is that they work. Follow the sizing chart and buy with confidence.

Got the wrong size but still ended up being great
i ordered a small, when i needed a medium. They were tight, really really tight, i used them for around 3k runs and sprints. They feel nice and you can feel the compression on your shins and calfs. For me obviously they were way to tight, i had to stop a couple times since it felt like blood wasn't flowing into my lower leg. I ended up returning them because of the size, but i do recommend them if you do long distance (very long distance) or just want to make sure you are using all the muscles in the lower leg. I had shin splints and these helped a bit but i have been doing more shin strengthening exercises now so i dont need these. But say your a normal person that does marathons, i would recommend these if you aren't 100% committed to running and you aren't perfectly conditioned. The problem arises when you halfway through the marathon and you hit "the wall" and you push through it and you find that its very hard to move, eventually you start to use muscles that your not supposed to use. Its like squatting very heavy, if you are going for that last rep and your muscles can't push (glutes, hamstring, quads, calfs, etc), you will start to use muscles that aren't used for that movement (don't wanna know which ones ;) ). I'm not a doctor or a have a degree in kinesology but i do spend a lot of time learning about human movement.

I strongly recommend and endorse these N2's compression sleeves.
I have cramping issues - serious cramping issues. I require strong compression with a snug fit but not so tight as to feel uncomfortable especially because I need to wear my sleeves all nigh while I sleep and frequently during most days. So I also need a good quality sleeze that will take the wear and tear while retaining it's compression qualities. That's hard to find in a compression sleeve. Believe me, I know. I've bought no end of compression sleeves trying to find the right one that fits right and feels comfortable enough to wear for many hours. Thankfully I can now stop looking since I discovered these N2's. These are perfect for me. Yes, they are pricey but no other sleeve offers this level of "therapeutic quality" at a lesser price. Nothing even comes close.N2's are a prime example of "getting what you pay for." They are expensive but also well worth the price. They are so superior to the multiple other compression sleeves I have bought and worn that I now will only buy and wear N2's. I can honestly say they help me. And I mean a lot. I wear them constantly. I have come to rely on them. They have practically eliminate my cramping problems. I give these N2's my highest possible recommendation and endorsement for that reason.I haven't received anything from anyone for this honest evaluation.
