First time on CD for this highly-rated 1968 Psychedelic Rock album, produced by the legendary David Axelrod. Hard water had evolved out of Denver Colorado's premier surf band the Astronauts. Combining elements of Psychedelia and Country Rock, they explore the same dusty roads as the Byrds and Buffalo Springfield. Alongside their original compositions, they seamlessly fitted in interpretations of three tracks written by John Carter and Tim Gilbert of fellow Denver band the Rainy Daze. Booklet comes with copious liner notes and a plethora of rare photographs. Tune In. 2011.

A reissue done right.
Tune In, an affiliate of Cherry Red Records in the U.K., have come out with another splendid reissue of a relatively obscure 60s 'psychedelic' band. Hardwater evolved out of the Colorado surf band The Astronauts, and created one album's worth of top notch folkrock/psychedelia/country rock. There's not one dud track on this album, and it soars with excellent musicianship and great Byrds like vocal harmonies. Well worth repeated listenings.Tune In has done a superb job with the packaging, including expert graphics and well researched liner notes on the band's history. A special nod goes to the sound mastering, which was done from the master tapes. It is full, clean, and emits a powerful punch lacking in the original vinyl. Other reissues from this label have the same superior quality. Let's hope Tune In can grace us with important obscure reissues like this for years to come.

I've been waiting for this!
I can't say how long I have been waiting for the Hardwater LP to get a release on CD, all I can say it was way overdue but this amazing reissue means that it was well worth the. The people behind the Tune In label must really love this kind of music as the package here is just fantastic. The sound on the CD is breath-taking and you can hear that this is taken from the original master recording, it sounds so much better than the original vinyl release from 1968. The CD booklet is a revelation, the full story of the band is told by the four group members giving a detailed insight into the story behind Hardwater and is fascinating, and accompanied by rare photos, label shots and posters. If only all reissue labels took the kind of care and attention to detail as Tune In. If you are a fan of West Coast rock like the Byrds, Moby Grape and Buffalo Springfield then I advise you to buy a copy of this CD - you will not be disappointed!

Have the vinyl but might have to buy CD now!!
I agree with previous reviewers. I have had it on vinyl for 40+ years now & only recently transferred it to CD (was like catching up with old friends) BUT was pleased to read that the CD is better sound quality than vinyl! Might have to buy CD now!

Just One Song, and WOW, WHAT HAPPEN?
The first song, Medley: My Time/Take a long look, is great. The rest of the other songs on this CD or Album is, well, I have to say this, but it makes me laugh. Ever since I've First heard It! The singing sounds like their trying so hard ( you get it, So Hard), to make the rest of the other songs to sound like the FIRST song, like their pushing it from that producer! I mean it's really FUNNY the way their trying to sing. I'm not joking, you be the judge, WOW! P.S. I can still recall back in the early 70's on 95.5 KLOS FM when they played full albums on Sunday afternoons, they called it the seventh day and they played seven albums, makes sense, and I laugh (hard) when they played this album. The Two that Harmonize, it just sounds funny too me! I'm not making this up! Look people, I still like ELO's first album by Roy Woods and Jeff Lynne, even though back then, and even now, they still think it's a silly album, but I like it. ELO's 1st album still reminds me of the "Movie V". MAN! Folks, that's just a sample of Judging the History of Albums! That's All! I'm still Laughing at the two guys Harmonizing, I'm not kidding, MAN!. If your going to buy it, make sure your not smoking POT, You'll get a heart attack, that's all I got to say. WOW, Thanks for the VOTE! Amazing! I'm Serious! MAN!OH! MAN!!
