Good for general video playback but horrid LAN support
This is a fantastic little box.... works with a huge range of media formats, way more than an apple tv or some other box made by larger companies ever will (largely due to DRM fears most companies boxes are very much hindered in the formats they can play).one thing to note is that I got this box to also act as a jukebox and play music from. for this its sadly really very limited in terms of functions. you cant select for the player to play from multiple albums (folders) unless you've already made a playlist file when it was plugged into a computer (via the usb link). this means that it can play a directory of music and repeat it in a loop but that's it. my idea of copying files to it sometimes and it working via my hifi, playing like a never ending jukebox sadly wont come true with this box.Something else, especially important to note in relation to audio playing: The device is almost impossible to use without a tv screen since the lcd screen on the box is of such a low quality, only able to display 10 or so lcd calculator type characters on screen at once.with very little changes to the firmware the box would be capable of so much more but it seems that dvico have no interest in making its audio features any better (from the emails i got back this has been confirmed). Its a shame, especially since music codec support is fantastic, and if you have a very large music collection its still worth considering, but youll probably want to make playlist files to make the box more flexible and play for longer periods without interaction via the remote required.FYI, MediaMonkey was the best pc program i found to make playlists, when installed with a few playlist plugins I had it making playlist files from all my folders in a specific folder automatically without too much trouble.UPDATE: 28/4/10: My opinion of this device has somewhat change since the initial review as it really has bad LAN support. You can only FTP to it and I really need a device that works over my local LAN with the ability for me to copy files directly to it. Doing this via the provided FTP is unreliable at best and incredibly slow. Copying large files (which naturally video files often are) makes the task especially problematic.Another issue with TVIX is that their support is really not fantastic and they rarely update the firmware for products for that long once they have been replaced by newer models. This happened with my 4100 quickly after having purchased it.

Amazing
Ignore the review saying this is crap.... if you want a media player that runs from a hard drive then it's perfect. the playback quality is superb, the romate is sleek and glow in the dark. There isn't ay stuttering etc when playing movies, music etc.I have had one of these for about a year and wouldn't get rid of it for anything. The only downside is picture slideshows, you needs to shrink to about 1/2 a meg before they'll play.

Great product - have this nearly 2 years now
I've had this product for nearly 2 years and have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of it. It was expensive at the time - I bought it without a hard drive, but it was worth every penny. It's compatible with a huge range of file formats and has a throng of multimedia outputs. HD video & Freeview with the optional card is also excellent. It's no longer being sold, but if you are able to pick a used one up at the right sort of price this is a great investment. Couldn't praise it enough.

average product, uselss manafacturer, uncaring supplier!
The above mentioned product is average at best (you would be far better hooking a multi-media pc/ games console up to your tv for digital media playback), but the level of customer servcie from KJ GLOBAL and TVIX, is TERRIBLE. I cannot emphasise enought how poor both these companies are, and I would advise that you avoid them completeley. The product is average, but very unreliable, and hass some of the worst software I have ever used. This might not be a problem if the software was ever updated, but it is not. The customer service though is in a completely different league of useless, however, and both TVIX and KJ GLOBAL, will do their best to pretend that you don't exist once they have banked your cash. You have been warned!

Does not do exactly what it claims
Just make sure you have plenty of conversion software, thank goodness I know how to use batch processing in macromedias fireworks to enable me to convert all my jpeg images to lower spec jpegs so this unit will play them. I have also had to convert my AVI files to a lower spec AVI. This unit will not play original DVD's only copied DVD's with the copy protection removed.BTW Pixmania have dreadful aftersales service.
