Simple and Effective
We have a 1999 GMC pickup with very few miles on it. Recently an engine fault warning has been flashing at us each time we drive it. We have taken it to our local dealer, who read the code as "the number 7 cylinder is misfiring." They suggested the first thing we try is using a fuel injector additive to clear it out. They reset the code and we have followed their suggestion, using the truck more frequently to circulate the fuel injector fully into the system and adding more additive to ensure it's had a fair chance to solve the problem. Unfortunately, the warning light continues to flash.Since we know what the problem is and the recommended solution for now, I bought this engine fault code reader to be able to reset the warning light ourselves rather than just ignoring it or having to go to the dealer repeatedly. Since this is a 1999, which we purchased in the early days of 2000, we weren't sure it would work because the product site says it works on "most vehicles from 2000 on," however, the fault code reader did a fantastic job. It read the fault code correctly and very quickly. It was also easy to use. There is a port under the dash on the driver's side where my sweetheart plugged it in while the engine was off. Then he turned the key to on, but not far enough to start the engine. The reader loaded the information and gave 4 or 5 choices of what information he was looking for. He chose "engine analysis," which scanned the information from the vehicle computer and allowed him to delete the fault code for now. While it was still plugged in, he started the engine and the warning light was off. Then he turned off the engine and unplugged the scanner. Simple and effective!

If you doubt this, then you are missing it.
I live in Hawaii. And just this, you can tell. For me, or for those who live in Hawaii, when you take your car for just diagnose, they charge like CRAZY. Even to just the read code, it is so expensive. People want to have scanner, but scanner here is also expensive. This scanner is a bomb. Easy to manage, and just one single scanner, things can be solved. I thought it would end up being just a toy, but it really does super job for your repair, if you want to save the repair cost. No battery needed. When you connect, it will work through electricity through your car.Connection with the car is really well, and no struggle to watch the screen to recognize the codes. It has various functions not only engine diagnostic, but also battery and other extra diagnose. If you really want to save the money on your car repair, this is really a first step I recommend you to take.

Great value!
Have used scanner on several vehicles now. Would like to rate 5 stars. Accuracy seems to be no fault of the scanner, but it does not contain model-specific codes that were thrown due to faulty purge control valve, dirty throttle body or dirty air filter, all of which were needed and pointed to EVAP system (ECU issue, not scanner?). I'd buy another scanner for a family member, if any of them would use it. Real-time ECU data is handy!

JDIAG OBO2 SCANNER CAR ENGINE
First of all make sure your car is turned on ( I was WONDERING why the SCANNER wasn't working) if I had cranked the car up that would have help a lot. The the SCANNER attached right under my dashboard the cable was long enough for me to work with the scanner. Then a blue light comes on ,it takes about one to two minutes to read your car I use a Toyota. No codes came up for any problems but I had just had service done on the Toyota true be told I would have been mad if the SCANNER said something was wrong with my car so the scanner does work it showed the identification number of my car and BATTERY level and a couple other thing nothing bad. The scanner is a pretty good gadget to have on hand.

Bright
For anyone that does any self-maintenance to save money, grabbing one of these is a must. All OBD2 units in this price range offer basically the same number of features and capabilities, so you can’t really go wrong with most choices. However, having tried this one personally, I can say that it works really well and is simple to use. The screen is clearly legible and has a back-light for darker environments – perfect for being stranded during the middle of the night. The menu is easy to navigate and the buttons themselves are large and functional. One thing I really like about this unit is the cable is a little over 2.5 feet, so trucks and larger vehicle owners – fear not! Another small but notable thing is the color of the unit – for something that will sit in a drawer or glove box for most of its life – having a bright color makes them a lot easier to find! I recommend this!

Sort of works
I bought this unit to help find a used car for my nephew. I brought it with me when I went to check out a car I was considering to purchase. When I got it, I immediately tried it on my own 2011 Kia Sorento. I was encouraged. Now comes the hunt. I tried it on a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country, then on a 2005 Chevy Venture, 2001 Chevy Venture and finally on a 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. It could not connect to any of the cars.I have since updated the unit's software to version 1.12 following instructions I was able to find on YouTube (there are no instructions in the manual). I tried it again on the 2007 Town & Country and it still could not receive diagnostic data from the car. I went back to the 2011 Kia, and the data came through on that car just fine.In summary it does not work on all 2009+ cars with the data connector. If you want to update the unit's software using your computer, you'll have to find a compatible cable (older style USB connector) and follow the instructions found at YouTube.Hope that helps.

Funktioniert wie es soll.
Bis jetzt keine Beanstandung. Wer mal gucken will, was im Auto los ist, und den Fehlerspeicher mal löschen möchte, ist hiermit gut bedient. Als Hobbyschrauber klare Empfehlung.

KEINE Deutsche Beschreibung
