Great taste and easy to use
Update: I have use this coffee maker daily for one week shy of a year. Still function as new and makes a great cup of coffee everyday. It is everything as promised. Easy to use and NO- it will not work with smart switch. Preinfusion adds favor to your coffee. The temperature of the coffee is exactly where it should be. Easy to clean. Current price is where it falls short. At almost one hundred dollars, it lost affordability factor the brand once represents. The MK is only $10 more. I purchased the machine almost a year ago at Amazon deal price which was awesome. Not so affordable/value at non-sale price.

Nice looking, brews quickly.
I like this coffee maker a lot but there are some little things I would change:1. Put a flip-up lid on the water reservoir - it's too easy to sort-of bat this lid around. Hope i don't break it!2. Fix the 'thumb tabs' on the carafe - they get in the way of the filter basket when i'm inserting the loaded basket.3. Put a flip-up lid on the filter basket - you can't get the lid on after you've inserted the basket in its 'dock' and it seems another candidate for dropping-breaking.I like the look and the coffee brews up quickly and tastes great.

Hot flavorful coffee
I have ended up buying two of these coffee makers. Not because one went bad but because I wanted a good coffee maker at my mother's house also. I had not realized how much I had gotten used to a hot, flavorful drink in the morning until I was at my mother's house and making coffee. It was a well known brand used in a lot of households, but after pouring up my coffee I ended up having to put in the microwave to get it hot enough for my wants. This is not a fancy coffee maker. It has an on off switch, it uses a cone filter and whatever coffee grounds you desire but it has a powerful heater to bring the water up to 200 degrees F (94 C). It showers the coffee with this hot water and it keeps the coffee hot once it has finished brewing. The whole assembly is super easy to clean and that keeps future brews from tasting bitter. I give this coffee maker a thumbs up.

Used daily for over a year - still brewing nicely
I prefer to wait and review something like this after I've used it for a while. I bought this in Feb 2020 as an alternative to the much more expensive MM. As a home coffee roaster, I'm fairly particular about the end result of my efforts. I use this brewer, my Brita filter, and my Baratza Encore grinder daily. The Encore does a marvelous job of giving me a consistent grind while the Phyismor brewer does its job of providing the correct temperature water (195-200*F) sprinkled gently over the coffee via the shower head. I like that I can close off the drip with the manual lever and let the last 13-14oz of water sit on the grinds in the basket for 5-6 minutes. It gives a flavor profile that I find to be somewhere between normal drip and a french press (I have one of those too and an Aeropress) immersion method. It's quite a bit easier to clean vs. french press as well. My experience with this brewer has been nothing but good thus far.

Basic machine makes such good coffee- 4/29- Changed rating
UPDATE 4/29: I went from a 5 star review to 1 star. Shortly after the 30 day return window, the coffee maker broke. It now withholds a substantial amount of water inside the machine after a pot is brewed. I have to hold it over the sink and turn it every which way to try and drain it. The water just keeps spilling out of the spout. And the seller is LOUSY. They have ignored my written messages. There isn't a phone number to contact them either.ORIGINAL Review:This is the pour over method - grind your own, because store bought ground is too fine and doesn't extract enough of the flavor. As far as some people complaining that the automatic shut off for the heating plate being too short. - I use (GiNT Stainless Steel Thermal Coffee Carafe) for leftover coffee, and that will keep it hot for another couple of hours. Or, look elsewhere for a brewer that comes with a thermal carafe. The machine can only make around 3 large mugs at most. Perfect for me. It only comes with 4 filters, but I had to rinse them before use to rid of the paper smell and taste. Spend a few extra dollars for good filters and you'll appreciate a better flavor. It takes the right amount of time (approx. 5 minutes) to brew a perfect pot and get full extraction from the beans. You can use the lever to both adjust strength or pour a quick cup. It's reasonably priced for what you get. The bottom line is that this simple, basic Phyismor makes a great cuppo. Easy set up and easy to clean. I would definitely purchase again.
