One Way Love: Inexhaustible Grace for an Exhausted World

One of the best books on GRACE I have read!
Love this book! It is biblically sound and focuses on the gospel of Christ as gift and not something that is earned. I pray that people all over the world pick up this book and read sound theology that is delivered to the reader by a loving shepherd. This was written by a former Coral Ridge minister who came to speak at our Seminary and sounded free of many of those Reformed presuppositions. The book is about Christ's gift given by grace through faith (Ephesians 2: 8, 9) and this gift and this book are for everyone. God wants all people to live in His kingdom forever.

A wonderful book on grace
A lucid and detailed explanation of what it means to be a Christian, a cherished child of God for whom Jesus went to the cross. Tullian guides us through some challenging concepts of grace, and then delivers us back to where we started. If we know in our hearts that we don't have to earn our salvation, that it has already been purchased, what would we be willing to do for God, for our fellow humans? Reading this book was a wonderful journey and a pleasure. See Galatians 5:6.

Encouraging and thought-provoking
I had read Tchividjian's "Jesus + Nothing = Everything" a while back and found it good, but didn't give it a lot of thought once I had finished it. I was reintroduced to him through his connections with the Mockingbird ministry/blog and even the controversy related to him and The Gospel Coalition. Then I recently had some conversations with someone who was greatly helped by his teaching. All of that led me to want to read more of his books, so when I saw the Kindle version of this book at a low price, I bought it. I noticed the sub-title, "Inexhaustible Grace for an Exhausted World" and thought of recent conversations I've had with and about fellow Christians that just seemed beat down and tired. This book was very encouraging, and I believe I'll be thinking about it for a while. I've seen a lot of people really struggling to work to gain acceptance (perhaps without knowing it) from God and others. We seem to be unable to latch on to the truth that through the work of Jesus, we have a perfect love and acceptance that can never be taken away. We don't need to work for those things any more. This really is a battle we all fight because God's grace is so counter to how the world operates, the voices we constantly hear telling us we need to work for all we get. That's why Tchividjian's message is so refreshing and helpful. It brings up a lot of questions, a lot to think through, but that is good. I think this would be worthwhile read for every Christian.

I won!
I won! That's what I feel like - like I won the lottery. Maybe that's a bad description to use. But as I read this book, the grandeur of the Gospel became greater and greater. I've been a believer 30+ years, but I always wrestled with the "freedom" that Scripture proclaims, and the shackles I (and others) wrapped around myself in an effort to "earn it." It took seeing my own wretchedness and inadequacy to add anything to what Christ has done to really begin to understand just how great our faith is.Tullian has gotten his share of press lately in the sanctification debates. I really appreciated his own humility and repentance in how he responded to blowing it a few times in the public debate. It affirms the message of his book. The book is one anyone can read and understand. It's one worth re-reading at times - I've highlighted sections that I need to read again and again. The book magnifies Christ and I think it will help a lot of Christians (especially in the US) move beyond the performance-ism that he writes about.

Language For Today ...
We think. We talk. We write. But sometimes we are at a loss for words to express what we experience. Tchividjian puts words to our struggle with culture, experience, and grace. Life is about God, who chooses to free us because He loves us. This book puts my daily struggle into words and helps me understand my feelings and actions. God's love isn't dependent on my choices. It's about His doing and not my doing. "Thank you, God!"Understanding grace is a lifelong experience and I am still in process. God is not limited by my finite understanding of time because He has created eternity to keep the process going. Grace truly is awesome!Thank you to Tullian Tchividjian for writing this book. I highly recommend it for the journey.

Awesome Revelation of Grace! A must read!
Incredible revelation of Grace Tullian! Thank You so much for writing this book! There are some things The Lord reveals to you but you don't seem to connect with anyone with the same revelation and kind of keep it to yourself! I was one of those who want to fight for the freedom of being ME! And it seems like you are a "heathen" if you do so. Tullian does reveal to you what I call the revelation of Grace and you can tell that it is a personal revelation and an experience in his life and to me that is what really sets people free; sharing your life experiences and how you encountered GRACE (Bless The Lord) and your life was transformed! I really don't like hanging around people who prentend like they are out of Mars, rigid, Hypocrites if I may say so, make you feel like you are not holy enough or spiritual enough!...Man, if you really want to be free and be YOU as God Almighty knows you, then this book is for you! It is the Truth that You KNOW that will set you free! It is okay to lose....you don't have to be afraid. It is okay to not be perfect! Thanks Tullian for taking the time and putting this on paper. It has helped us and we are rereading it again.

Message for hope and explanation of Grace and being Saved
Helped to explain God's grace to my husband, who after hearing Tullian on TBS decided to follow Jesus and his teachings. It has had a tremendous effect in helping to relieve him from fear and for making him accept that God has forgiven him and everything in his life. All has been forgiven. I hope he finishes the book soon as my son wants to read it when Dad has finished. The old testament is a great book to understand the history of the law, but the gospel of Jesus Christ brings a new covenant whereby our sins are forgiven and we no longer rely on just good works and "being good". Tullian explains that this sets people up to fail, because we will all fail occasionally. That is just how we are as humans.
