Sturdy, heavier than I thought it would be. Very wide- can't fit it and the 300 version side by side in the back of my SUV. Easy to collapse and set up

Our Boxer can't outsmart this!
I was very reluctant to spend this kind of money on a crate for my very intelligent, nearly-two-year old Houdini Boxer, Toby. Toby has managed to break free of three previous crates, in the most creative ways. I've been welcomed at the back door several times. He has destroyed two sofas, countless rugs, blankets and too many pillows to count.I did my homework and read all of the incredible reviews on this crate. My friends thought I was out of my mind spending this kind of money on a crate when I could easily get one at the local pet store for a fraction of the cost. I explained that I was impressed with the reviews and the money that I was spending on replacing sofas, among other things, was way more than the one time cost of this crate. Besides, none of those crates from the local pet stores were working. I bought the most expensive ones, thinking that they were the best. Toby proved them wrong. When the crate arrived, it took me only a few minutes to have it set up and ready for occupancy. I held onto the box that it was shipped in just in case I was going to be sending it back for a refund, as soon as he broke free. I added the only blanket that he has not destroyed and he watched in disbelief that his blanket was actually going in, and he was destine to be next. After being gone for most of the afternoon on the first day he was crated, I couldn't help but wonder what in the world I was going to come home to. How far will he have "walked" the crate across the room? What is his revenge going to be? What will be destroyed? Will he have chewed and eaten his only remaining blanket out of anxiety and insecurity? When I returned home, I fully expected if he was still inside the crate that he would be so mad and out of breath from trying to escape. He was as calm as could be. He did not chew his blanket, "walk" the crate across the room, and there was no evidence that he even tried to escape. Winner! Winner!! Winner!!!I have never had to "force" him inside. He goes in willing and seems to have accepted that this is his safe place. I could not be happier with this purchase and am now among the reviewers that this is by far, the best Amazon purchase I have ever made!!Toby is a brute, at nearly 70 lb. and more growing to come. After I placed the order, i thought that I might should have gotten the XL crate for fear that the L was not going to be big enough. I was wrong! The Large is PLENTY big and he has growing room too boot!Thank you so much for offering this amazing product! I have been raving about it on social media and couldn't be happier with my decision!OH, and I have thrown the shipping box in the recycle bin!

If you have a tenacious dog, I wouldn't recommend - Cuts on dog's nose and paws, chipped teeth, expensive vet bills
I ordered this crate because of the amazing reviews from other pet owners, but my dog had so many issues with this crate.I should probably preface that my Husky has destroyed three crates so far, so that's the only reason why I would spent so much on an "inescapable" crate.I also did a couple of weeks of crate training (30min - 3hrs) before leaving him in there for a full day. On the first full day I leave him in there, I come home my dog laying by front door, and the crate door wide open. YES, I should also mention my dog's name is Houdini for a reason. He chewed on the locking mechanism until he learned to unhook the latch and open from the inside... from the inside of the crate, he can open the latch.I also came home to a bloody dog and blood spatter on the walls next to the crate. The aluminum for the holes is incredibly sharp, and my dog's nose was completely cut open (so he no longer has black at the top of his nose). He also had a cut on his paw. So I cleaned him and patched him up, then cleaned the crate and the walls.I decided to give it one more try with a padlock, and while it did keep him in, I came home to a complete mess. There was blood all over the crate and my pup. In addition to more cuts around his face and mouth, he chipped a tooth, and wore down his two bottom canines so they are now gray to match the metal. Now that I have some pretty expensive vet bills for his dental work, I also can't return the expensive crate that didn't work since they have a 30 day return policy... and I'm three days late on that.I just wanted to put this as a warning to those who have extremely tenacious, stubborn dogs.

Great Quality and Customer Service!
My wife and I recently got a rescue dog, Fletcher, part German Shepherd and part Bernese Mountain Dog. We have a second rescue dog, Peaches, about 5 years old, a Lab and have always used kennels when we are away from the house. I had a metal wire cage for Fletcher and my wife had to go out of town so when I went to work I put both of them in their kennels. I live close to work so I would come home for lunch. Well I came home the other day and to my surprise Fletcher met me at the back door. When I went to see how he got out I found that he had taken the door on the cage and literally pulled it into the kennel and bent the door in half. Now this is a puppy about 6 months old and weighing 65 pounds, he didn’t hurt anything in the house but just wanted to get out. So after spending most of the evening researching I purchased a new Impact Dog Crate. I purchased the 400 Model (Collapsible). When it arrived I pulled it out of the box and was very impressed with the fit and finish of the crate. I did have one issue though, the side bars did not arrive with the crate, but I called and Tommy got on the phone with me and I explained my situation and he made it a point to send a set out overnight and I was up and going. I have to say that Fletcher cannot get out of this crate, it is the best crate I have seen and well worth the money. My wife and I travel quite a bit and always take our dogs with us and I will be purchasing another one of these for our Lab, Peaches, these are the easiest to set up and are very portable. I also have to say that the customer service Tommy provided was a breath of fresh air, he called me about 6 p.m. the day that I received the side bars to make sure everything was ok and to see if I needed anything else. It is very hard to find quality craftsmanship and quality customer service today but they have both. Thanks for everything Tommy! I will definitely be telling people about your product and ordering another one in the near future.
