5 STARS Cause it was that Good!!!!!!!
Avion Book #7 of Cyborgs more than Machines Eve LanglaisWow when Eve hinted around that this was a complicated read she wasn’t kidding. But I have to say she kept this one close to the chest. If you haven’t read this series it’s a must read.Avion’s story picks up where it left off in Adam’s story. We’re introduced to a new character “One” which we know nothing about. The mysterious female with awesome mysterious powers. Who is she, where does she come from and most of all what is she. The female Avion hears in his head albeit faintly. But he is bound and determined to save her.We all know Avion is dying and his cyborg brothers are trying desperately to find a way to save him. We find out who “One” is (although I kind of suspected just wasn’t sure). We finally find out what is causing Avion’s nanos to die off, and how “One” ( Lilith) breaks a sacred promise to try and save him. Taking him to her Mentor Master “Z”.Tons and tons of action. We get to see Apheleon, Xylo, Deidre, Laura, Seth, Ana, Adam, Aramus and Riley in this shocker of a read. OMG the bomb Riley drops on Aramus was jaw dropping. BUT the ending, OMG the damn ending, I got sucker punched and blindsided all at the same time. I truly never saw that coming. Great read, great twist and great ending. I truly hope it’s not the ending. LOL

End to an Amazing Series
Avion is finally back with his brothers, although it may be to late for him. The military has found a way to destroy them. He is dying, slowly and painfully. On the way home with his metal brothers he hears a voice in his head.A woman held captive and alone for her whole life calls out for anyone to hear her. Her call is answered by a man named Avion, she tells him her name is one. Can she be the “one” who can save him or is she just one who needs to be saved before his time is over. He vows to save her before he dies and sets out for one last adventure. This is the final story of our beloved Cyborgs. We finally get answers and hopefully happily ever after for all.

Wow....just WOW!!!
Everything I read by Eve Langlais is fabulous, and this is no exception. If you haven't read this series, get them. They are well worth the time spent in any universe and monetary denomination. No spoilers here, just a bit of sadness that this book ends one of the most...human and fresh stories I've read in a very long time. I normally don't do sci fi, but this series called on some pretty powerful emotions. I read it in record time, sadly it was over before I knew how to process all the amazing gifts Eve gives in this mind bending installment of the cyborg series. If she writes more it will be on my automatically but, absorbed and bragged about books. I will miss this happy band of hunky warriors but I look forward to a new universe. I know that in this one I will never be the same since I found them. I'm speechless and will happily be dreaming a kenetic link to spy on Eve to see what new, witty and emotionally charged adventure she might invent for our next encounter. Go Eve Go!!!

endlessly enjoyable and wildly fascinating
What a fantastic & gripping conclusion to Langlais’ Cyborg series. I loved each and every second of it. Her in-depth storytelling combined with the fast paced, explosive tale created a whole that I couldn’t put down. I still can’t stop thinking about it. Langlais doesn’t just make cyborgs and nanotech seem plausible, but rather, completely possible. The fact that I was able to picture this happening now, hidden behind secretive closed doors made the story even more real. And the new twists that we get to see had my mind reeling.I loved the characters here. Not only do many of the individuals that we’ve come to know in perveious novels really shine, but we also get up close and personal with Avion as he tries to accept what he sees as his fate. Seeing One trying to assimilate everyone’s emotions as well as their place within the group was both fascinating and comical. This novel wraps up the series well without tying it up in a nice little bow. You can sense where things are headed but they’re far from done. We’re simply at a new beginning. It’s the perfect ending for this well developed, endlessly enjoyable series.

A Reading the Paranormal Review
I'm so sad to see this series end. I've loved these brash, loud, destructive men (and women) since Joe first caught sight of Chloe and plucked her from the men holding him. It's so hard to say goodbye, people. SO HARD. (Heh. I said hard.)Or are we saying goodbye? We're teased with the very real possibility there could be more in the future for these metal men (and there are a few surprises I didn't see coming which makes me want to see how things will turn out SO BAD!). I'm going on record as saying I would not be adverse to more cyborgs. They make me laugh. They make me grin at their bloodthirsty antics. And sometimes the horrible things they've been put through make me sad. But the sad is quickly followed by happy when they hook up with the person they're meant to be with and get down to the sexin'. They do other stuff too. Don't think it's all about the sexin'. It's not. They also make inappropriately timed jokes and annoy Aramus.AS ONE DOES.Avion and One (who does choose a name, don't worry!) are both sweet and sad together. Avion's failing body puts a bit of a crimp in their time together and One's fear of being alone makes me have sad eyes, but, NOBODY FRET, everything works out. In rather unexpected ways. One more time, just so there's no misunderstanding: I'm all for more cyborgs!-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

Ok but not the best in the series.
Warning - spoilersWell worth a read, but not sure if it was a worthy last book for this series. Don't get me wrong - I've loved this series and I love Eve's writing, but considering this is the last book in a brilliant and novel series, it felt a bit hurried - and much too short. I remember thinking "great, the story's just getting going" then noticing that I was over 80% of the way through it.I would've liked more build up between Avion and One/Lilith before they got together. It was basically "Hi I'm Avion, I've rescued you, please fall in love with me" "Hi, I'm One, okay then" There was no real angst or danger of them being pulled apart, no build up or development of their feelings towards one another - just meet, fall in love, that's it. Compared to the relationships the other cyborgs have had in the other books, it was just too quick and uncomplicated. Also, the whole nanotech thing left more questions - where did they come from? How did they come to be on just one planet with only one guardian? Surely there could be more out there? And they all get blown up?! For god's sake, didn't anyone have a Thermos flask they could've scooped some into? Were the nanos sent out by another race as a sort of "Noah's Ark", in which case, surely there would've been more of them scattered around the galaxy? Or did the nanos build the ship? I'm confused.I had been really looking forward to this book - waiting to see if all the questions would be answered, but considering there has been a build up throughout the whole series about the nanotech - where does it come from, what can it do, what will it lead to in the future, etc etc., the ending was just a bit too .... sudden - "here's a big puddle of nanos, this is where you come from. Here's some big aliens to blow it all up. Oh, and there's a baby. But we're not going to tell you if it lives or dies, or it's improved by nanos or anything"Sorry, Eve, I wanted to LOVE this book, I was so excited to read it, but it's left me frustrated and wishing for a couple of hundred more pages. There is a little teaser at the end hinting that there may be more, but as this was billed as the final in the series, I wanted more and I'm afraid I didn't get it.

Loved it
This is the last one? Noooooo! I love my cyborgs. As always, this book is well-written and highly entertaining. I've been looking forward to Avion's story since we first met him. I have to admit that he's not my favourite cyborg (that'd likely be either Aramus or Seth) but I still love him. One/Lilith is delightfully nuts, even by cyborg standards. The book does a good job of wrapping up the cyborg storyline while still leaving it open for a future spin-off series. Please let there be a future spin-off series!

Brilliant!
I loved this book, the final in the series, although I hope there will be another cyborg series as I'll miss the crazy cyborgs! I loved Lilith/One and was happy she and Avion found each other! They had strong chemistry and were good together! I laughed at the banter between the cyborgs! It was great that they finally got some answers about their origins although they still have questions! Great end to the series!

The last of the Cyborgs
I have enjoyed the sexy cyborgs series. Eve's vivid imagination brings the stories to an end and explains a lot along the way.I am sorry the series is finished but I can always go back to the beginning and read them all again! There are a lot more of Eve's books I need to catch up on. I love all her fantastic, imaginative stories of whatever genre. Long may they continue.
