Reading this series was definitely a delight! I thought since it was YA that it was going to be cheesy and not very well written. I have to say that I am blown away! Tahereh Mafi definitely sucked me in with this series! I read all the books as well as the novellas in under 2 weeks! I couldn’t put them down! I loved the twist of the unexpected love story forming in the earlier books! I love how she was so intuned and on the nose with the emotions and feelings of all the characters and not just Juliette (Ella). She had every character and their different lives and she captured them beautifully. I felt what they felt! at times i got aggravated, excited, sad and you could feel that the love and all the emotions were captured! I loved that she was able to make the “love scenes” appropriate and tasteful.. leaving room for your imagination take hold without giving you all the details. This story line was amazing! The twist of the apocalyptic feeling and the impending doom of the reestablishment! Then throw in the aspect of super powers! Well done! I am utterly blown away by her writing skills! I often find it hard to get into most books from outside my normal authors, but this is one I definitely recommend all the time i was reading to everyone! Very well edited! Only a few mistakes i saw with that! But it was very well put together and written very well! Definitely glad that i found it at goodwill! I would definitely read this!
