Baseball Pitching Machine

I originally purchased this product to use as a less expensive way to pitch to my fast pitch travel ball team. However I soon realized that it was an outstanding way to throw pop ups and fly balls to the girls quickly and more accurately than batting the ball to them. The sling pitcher assembles easily and I bring it to the travel ball tournaments in its carry case. I am able to do rigorous catching drills in a limited space in a short period of time. I would highly recommend this product just for the fielding drills alone. I do recommend using Jugs Lite or similar dimpled balls as they will go further that an actual softball.

Best thing I ever bought! I have had this about two weeks and I love it. Does take a little practice but fly balls and pitching is really great. Not sure why the other review did not like it. It is a tool not a machine. It is very powerful so you could hurt someone if you do not pay attention. My kids used to wear me out hitting balls to them and pitching to them now I sit and relax and they do the work as it should be. I was not sure at first, I mean it is a sling shot, but you have so much control and you can vary the fly balls and the pitches. Most pitching machines put the pitch in the same spot every time, how does that train the eyes to judge the ball? You have to train your eyes to select a good pitch to swing at.Very light weight and durable. I carry it around and then take it apart to put in the car. I started my kids out bunting with it so I could learn how to shoot the pitch I want at them then we put up the guard so they can swing away. Very cool. I bought it because I want my kids to see hundreds of pitches a week and I cannot throw that many pitches. Soft toss is great but not game realistic. If you have the time to spend with your kids then you need to get this. I have had some parents say they are not even good enough to play catch with their kid. Well if you can sit on your butt and reach out and grab a ball then you can throw them the ball with this.I would look up the video on YouTube to learn to use it. I did and it made all the difference. It will also help you decide if you will like it.

We purchased this 2 years ago and they are not worth owning. As a travel coach, who love new ideas and better ways to practice this is not the answer. Sorry

I've had my Sling Pitcher for several years and have found it very capable and flexible. I have significant back troubles and currently find myself disabled waiting on a surgical solution. Anyway, my son has moved on from baseball and today I use the Sling Pitcher to place tennis balls for him for practice. I'm unable to throw a ball or swing a racket and this little gem has kept me "in the game". It's a bit awkward to set up at first, and it doesn't feel as if it can take much abuse/use. But it can! I'm still on my first set of bungees and can still enjoy sporting activities with my son. If anyone out there struggles with some sort of physical limitations and would like to stay active and participate in either baseball practice, softball practice or even tennis practice I would highly recommend this clever little unit.
