Jet Flame Lighter 503 Pencil Torch Butane Soldering (Excluding Butane)

Fab little tool. Been using for a few weeks and it still works perfectly with one exception. It doesn't really like lighting first go on yellow flame, you have to ignite on jet and then switch it. Definitely worth the few extra pounds extra rather than the cheap ones for £5 or less. The cheaper ones can't handle being lit for too long and after a week or so they start to give up. This feels properly engineered.

I have lost count of the number of jet flame lighters that I have gone through. Mostly the problem is poor quality manufacturing or poor quality materials which result in the lighters simply not functioning within weeks, at best, and often only days. I have had this one only a short time and, although the controls feel a little poorly fitted, it is providing a regular steady flame in both jet and normal mode. The description of the product is not entirely accurate though - for instance, the "Red Rolling Wheel dial" is no such thing, it is simply a sliding switch. I would also question whether these lighters can really be used for welding or repairing pipelines, though they should be okay for smaller tasks such as repairing jewellery or small amounts of paint removal - this is because they simply do not hold enough gas to get a high heat intensity job done. Last but not least, I certainly did not get the lighter in an "elegant gift box", it came in a moulded plastic tray in a simple cardboard package - and that's all it needs - but worth knowing if you actually do plan to buy this as a gift.

I got this for my dynavap 'M' and the single torch is definitely the way to go for this vape. The torch itself is very easy to use, and also reaches very hot temperatures. For the money you spend you get a lot for it. If you need a low budget flame torch and it is quite conceivable, just on the tad long side, but its thin so it can be hidden along your forearm if need be.

Firstly I am not a careless and safety oblivious crank. I am an experienced scout leader and bushcrafter who has used and taught the safe use of stoves and fire making tools/devices for many years.The item I received after ordering this device insanely dangerous!I read and understood the directions fully before filling with butane. I allowed 5 minutes for the gas to stabilise before trying to ignite.I set flame regulator to minimum and flame type to "jet" and NOT to flame.Initially the device would not ignite. After several attempts it ignited with a 15 inch high flame which after 2 seconds enveloped the whole device.My only mistake was trying to ignite this indoors as I was forced to drop this after my hand was enveloped in flame. I then had to pick it up again and throw it into the sink to avoid setting my house on fire. I now have no hair on my hand and a device that I am going to have to find a safe place to dispose of as it's full of fuel and I won't risk returning it. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Working well - little chance of flame being extinguished by wind, it really is fierce. Will need to take gas refill, when camping, as the reservoir will be on the small side for the fierceness of the flame - it is adjustable, but outside it will need to be flat out.

quiet operation, consistent successful ignition which is the most important factor - depending on your purpose of use. does what it says on the tin, sleek smooth design. would buy again or for others. so much crap torches out there, nice to find a good one.

I purchased this as a quick and easy solution to 3D printing stringing, and for general use when I'm DIYing or making. Works really well for that. The flame is adjustable down so that a quick pass over a 3D print will get rid of those annoying strings without melting the print. It's also great for a quick solution to heatshrink tubing, solder, etc.I don't know about durability and life so far, but it looks pretty well made for the price. Would recommend.

This is just a piece of plastic and metal with a bunch of buttons but no butane to ignite any sort of flame,Then when I tried to somehow connect a lighter refill butane tank somehow: still nothing but a spark on 1 end and some butane freeze on the other.Completely useless product.
