Tryka Gears Plastic Pharos Rechargeable LED Dual Helmet Lights for Bikers (Matte Black)

April 3rd 2021: This is day one of the product unboxing, I managed to watch the video on how to put it on my helmet which is a Open face Steelbird SBA 3 Air R2K which is new in market and has curves and edges. I checked and rechecked how to put this light on it and managed to find a place as in video to hook the main clip on which out disturbing the overall look and the airflow of the helmet. I went ahead clipes the main clip. Now the waiting time began, 15 hours and no use, I gave it a full day, Hold the glue for 30-60 second's I gave it a full 10 mins.April 4th 2021: 24 Hours are over when the clip was installed on my super curve helmet with enough air vents to even blow vega, studds away. It took close to 30 mins to charge the main Pharos, Possible there was company battery at 50% to 75%. I went ahead and cliped my Pharos on the clip provided, before doing that I check the clips power to hold device like Pharos by pulling it side to side and up and down. The glue is of top quality 3mm original surely does the best job here. I went ahead cliped the Pharos, making sure the clip didn't crack or changed the glue position when I was messing with it internally to see if it will problem at high speeds. No issues at all, installing the clip took 15 mins with watching the YouTube video included. Waiting time of 24 hours were well worth the time to let the glue behind the clip dry. Waiting for night time to check how Pharos works, it's fully charged and ready to go with its two modes. I would have prefered it had 5 modes, including Blue steady, Red Blinker, Off, 3 clicks starts blue blinker, 3 clicks starts Red Blinker, 5 clicks starts a Red & blue blinker- red first then blue, then red then blue which would help in alot of issues, I face at night riding. Atleast in Mumbai. It's 3PM. Intensity of the LEDs are amazing in a dark room take blue or red both do their job well and worth it over other bands of china crap Amazon sellers are selling in the name of Made in India. Let's wait till night time then this review will be updated in real time to show how good this product really is. Also will have pictures and maybe a video to showcase the product, but many people have done that already so I rather stick to the quality, and actual real time issues this product will face for now which is the most important part of this review. The real time useage of the product and is it a worthy buy? "Light Weight" it's not heavy but feels nothing on my already light open face helmet, wish they had a good option for Open face helmets with full face front glass. OUR HELMETS ARE WORTHY!April 6th 2021: The product in real world is amazing, the Blue LED is a eye catcher! When I was parked I kept the Pharos into standby mode would help save 🔋. When I was parked road side I kept Pharos on Red blinkers since my Scooter has a Back rest until most Burgman which don't, customising is something of my forte. Alot of people where asking about what helmet it is, I told them it's not about helmet it's about the product on the helmet. Pharos is a worthy name of the product. I faced two issues on the real time useage. Open face Helmet with super curves the Pharos on the clip didn't move but the side parts did, both left and right since that area is super curvey it's like steps, so found a way to not make it move but at high speeds it tends to move upwards to the glass part which is not a issue, 80+ Kms no sound of the product nothing, I kept it on over 9+ hours while using it as I do my bluetooth headset. Once used to it you know how to keep it on blue, red or stand by mode which saves battery 🔋.The product I got at the start before removing Pharos out of the box looked dull, the glue was not even there, looked like someone had opened the box already while trying to not mess with the actual tape. MFD of the box is not even there but It has a number (123) not sure what the number means.Cons:1. Micro USB Type B is a major disappointment most of my devices, smart watch, Bluetooth 👂, Bluetooth 🔊, and even my phone uses USB Type C and all of them support fast charging.2. It's not meant to be used on a open face helmet, I had to find a way to make it useable on my open face helmet which had alot of curves and a different type of a helmet. I removed the SteelBird Logo on the back to make space then wipe, make it a clear surface then take alot of time to find the middle spot, kept trying to find the perfect place to stick it to so had to do alot of testing which would be a good space for the Pharos clip to be stuck on, I found three spaces. One was on top which didn't look good and blocked the air vents on the helmet, the middle spot was pretty much blocking air vents again. So the Final spot on the answer to the company. It's own YouTube video take three fingers from the back side of the helmet and boom, Perfect spot for the Pharos to stick on. Didn't block my air vents, no isssues.Overall satisfaction is Guaranteed with Pharos, a eye catcher blue LEDs are bright. Red is more like a warning blinker, as I said needs more modes. it needs a better 🔋 Battery and a better charging port like USB type C.USB Type B has alot of Issues, it doesn't go in as easy as it looks on a old phone. The port on Pharos may or may not break, can't say it now but, always use it in a slow manner to charge or disconnect.3. Need more clips, I have a collection of helmets for different weather's.PROS:1. Best Made in India product then china brands.1.5. Rechargeable.2. Bright LEDs.3. Easy switch to change modes.4. Worth the cost.5. Get two clips for two different helmets.Since Lockdown happened in our area, I haven't left home, will be posting a overall real time useage experience I have had with the product and will be updating this review again with pictures of the Pharos on my helmet and how it looks and etc. Keep an eye on this review!Next Update on11th April 2021.Missed this update.New Update: 27th June 2021Sorry missed the middle updates, Real time useage of the product is amazing, We had a little rain falls a week ago nothing major but the Pharos malfunctioned, at standby mode it shows blue led with standby, and when switch is on it makes the led brighter and the blue led stays on with red blinker making it kinda pink. Product is being returned to the company for testing and fixing. Two other small issues I faced the usb type b rain helping rubber came off without any pressure. So I used a rainproof tape on it and the matt black color comes off easy on the tape. I don't think it was tested enough. Main purpose of the product is to help rider at night in all season's. I think the product didn't fail but Rain's in Mumbai is a different matter. Saftey first. I'm now using LEDs warnings Blue & Red on my scooter's back panel which is always rain safe. Pharos needs more testing in the water department. Overall 🔋 life is 10+ hours if you use stand by mode wisely! Pharos is also not Scratch resistant, it can have nail straches and so on forth. Right now my scooter is in shop but I will be sending back the Pharos for testing to the company see what went wrong with my device. Worthy product and customer service is full satisfaction even in lockdown slowly lifting.September 20 2022Finally after 4 repairs to my Pharos the unit died. I guess every device has a age now unlike Nokia.Pharos from a price point worked wonders for a long time as you can see product was brought on April 03 2021 - September 20 2022 is my last update for this product.Over all Pharos gave me over a years worth of time, I had to repair the usb socket 4 times since I brought it didn't give me problems at start but it sure gave me problems at end. But has many flaws and was never updated to a smaller size in 1.5 years, not good in heavy rains, better products out there then this now which is sad, I was told by owner he would be launching new products which will have side indicaters when the helmet moves with the scooter/bike and would be thinner then this one is and would have type C port which won't move. but kinda disappointed that the new update to the model never came.LEDs : 5/5Battery : 5/5Product Life 2/5 if not making repairs.Rain: 1/5 needs better coatingMatt black color: kinda bad when I broke the rain rubber I had to use rainproof sticker which made the color come off.Overall: 4/5Thank you.

The product is excellent. Its so bright in the night time and even during day time it can be seen. It is so useful for the bikers. The team has come up with such an innovative idea to safeguard the riders. Moreover this is rechargeable so no need to worry about changing the battery. Overall its an amazing device. Worst battery backup. Charged it for 1 hr but didn't used it. But the very next day it got discharged without any useage. Charging point socket cover is very loose. Atleast it is not at all worth buying.

There is no way this thing got so many ratings, the user experience is just terrible.Basically you have 2 buttons to operate:The first button is located on the inside part of this device which after installation cannot be reached or operated by pushing the device against the helmet and this button is needed to turn it on and also for recharge. Yes, you have to turn on the device for it to recharge when you have it connected to the power output.The second button which is easier to access and is used to turn the lights on and cycle between the three modes.For my smk helmet this thing was warping the plastic just to have both extensions reach half way around the helmet, it is definitely not compatible with big helmets.

I happened to buy this product recently, and I am quite pleased with this product - should say this is one of the must have device for all the bikers - Currently it's been 2 weeks since I bought this gear & this is extremely a good safety package altogether (Attached is one of the pic taken during a night ride).The Picture (Device clarity) should speak the rest I reckon. That being said - the product is extremely well crafted, look & feel is absolutely commendable, Packaging was excellent.I wish the Team @ Tryka Gears, a great Success in their future endeavors!! Looking forward to their next line up..

charging life less then 20 min 🤷🏻‍♂️When i use light for 20 min battery fully dead

Excellant product , great visibility in the night , rear vehicles can easily spot till 1 km to 1.4 kms depending on weather conditions , easy to use , great value for money , soon will upgrade to new model
