I lobbed this bad boy onto a big branch in my Hickory tree ...
5 stars for the hook. That thing is solid and legit.1 star for the rope. That thing is the complete opposite. Broke with hardly any pressure applied to it.We'll meet in the middle and give the whole thing a 3 start review. I lobbed this bad boy onto a big branch in my Hickory tree that broke off and fell from my neighbors yard. First throw and the hook easily sunk into the tree limb. Not going to lie I was pretty impressed. I took my first tug on the rope and it snapped right in half. I used a grapple knot, which is a pretty solid knot.Point being -- don't let the rope be a selling point for this piece. Buy for the hook and do yourself a favor and buy a better rope.

I'm Batman
A big dead tree branch fell onto another tree near my front door, and it was driving me crazy. Too high for my ladders, it just hung there, taunting me. Then I bought this bat hook…...I mean, grappling hook. First try, I launched it around the branch, and with a tug, it came crashing down. Now I'm going to devote my life to fighting crime. A grappling hook should come in handy.

Worked well for my purpose with adequate precautions
I have cut down a couple of trees that absolutely had to be felled to a specific location to prevent damage to surrounding fences, power lines and other considerations. Two trees between 30 to 40 feet tall. The smaller one was higher than the neighbors power line and in danger of possibly falling on it with two neighbor's fences very close. The taller tree also very near a neighbor's fence, property line and house. I tied the hook to a strong rope and was able to swing it high enough to grab the tree in a place to direct the fall. It grabbed well and I pulled as hard as I could to make sure it would not dislodge. I was able to successfully exert pressure in the direction I needed the tree to fall and safely cut it with a chain saw. Not a tool for kids to play with and if improperly used can cause serious injury but used with caution was a great tool for me. Care must be exercised if used the way I did because of the tremendous pressure used to pull the tree in the correct direction to fall. Caution must be used if used in other way as well. To make sure the hook would hold even under extreme pressure, I made sure no automobiles or people except myself were in the area and always protected myself before testing the line. The hook held in the tree branches well and was easy to remove after the trees were down on the ground. Use caution when pulling on the hook and make sure to stand out of the direct path behind a tree or other barrier in case it lets go during use. Always be safe.

Works well
I use this for pulling tool buckets, refrigerant bottles, vac pumps etc., up from the ground to a roof and back down again. It keeps me from having to make multiple trips up and down ladders. I bought a different rope to use with it. Search forGINEE 10mm Static Outdoor Rock Climbing Rope with Carabiner 35FTThere are many like this on Amazon. Better than the rope that comes with it.With three hooks, one will easily find the bucket handle. It will spoil your helper tho. If it can't be hooked then it won't come up to the roof.

cool little grappling hook - nice packaging - nice rope
cool little grappling hook - nice packaging - nice rope. Hook has protectors on tips. Used as soon as I received to hunt for part of Kayak stand in Lake cove having been blown off dock due to sweet IRMA . Found on third throw. Pulled up heavy half of Suspenz Kayak rack. Saved $200.00 from having to order another. Really nice little tool that will stay in the boat with me.

Small but too lite for my needs
This "claw" seems very lite to throw any distance. I would not place much confidence in dragging anyweight with it either. However, if your needing something small for a camping trip this mightbe of use.

This is a small, powerful, strong product. No complaints with strength or durability. EXTRA paracord attached is a nice bonus. Would buy again. Many uses.
