EXACTLY AS DEPICTED. PERFECT TOOL TO MAKE CERTAIN PARACORD KNOTS EASIER.
Before I recently watched a YouTube tutorial for easier method of tying the popular 2-strand Matthew Walker knot using paracord (for a lanyard or fob), I'd never heard of a "swedish fid," much less used one. But it's simple design and utility appealed to me. A little research, and I ordered this tool from this seller (perhaps ironically, I won't be using for it's primary purpose — rope splicing).Received today. Price is reasonable. Tooi is well-made; sturdy, yet light. Nice finish to both the metal and the wooden handle; no rough edges from the machining process.Attached are photos: fid in use during knot typing, and the almost finished product. (Thank you to Philip Le Masurier inspiration and instruction).

Maybe someone else finds this kind of fid useful. I didn't.
I thought "Hey, it's a fid that can fit different sizes of rope". Well, that's what I get for buying something before I knew how to use it. Now that I've gained a bit of experience splicing lines (and loving it I might add), I know the importance of a good fid. Just bite the bullet and buy a Selma brand fid set. You won't regret it.

Great product & service
The splicing fid was received one day early, and more than. Expected. The only comment is that both inner edges were rough, but corrected with few minutes with my garnet cloth. Thanks for a good product.

Works, but needs work.
Had slightly sharp edges. Fortunately, I have a friend with a buffer, and was able to smooth and polish everything up. Didn’t want to risk snagging on the rope strands and cutting them while making splices.
