It Does Cool It
Works. I learned a technique of "stirring" using this in the wort to cool it faster. The whole thing doesn't submerge in a 3 gallon extract boil, so it may be overkill size wise if that's what you're doing. But I guess if I end up doing full boils, this will be good. It was sort of a pain to put the tubing on with the clamps; not a big deal, but had it already had that on (as it looks in the image), it would have gotten five stars instead of four.

Incredibly effective
Tired of cooling my wort in a sink full of cold water, which is a slow, messy and time-consuming process; I splashed out on one of these. It is just incredible how effective it is. You do have to stir the wort to get the best results (you can feel the difference in the temperature of the water coming out of this), but it cools it down in just a few minutes. Hopefully this will also improve the flavor! You do have to tighten the clips that hold the plastic tubes onto the copper quite aggressively, or they fly off as I discovered.Highly recommended.

Works awesome. Some reviewers have had issues with the hoses coming off. I bought .5 inch pinch clamps for $1 from a local hardware store to replace the hose clamps and have had no issues. I also clamped the hose to the spigot connector and tested before use to make sure there were no issues.

Works like a charm
Works great and I am able to knock down the temp within 5 - 10 minutes with a garden hose. In winter I have to be careful as the water is so cold at the tap that I almost overcooled b/c I was jawing with a neighbor and looked at the thermometer just in time.

love this
I brew all the time and this works great to get the wort to 80 degrees quickly!
