The basket itself is nice and it looks great in our kitchen with all our fruit. I do not see how this would be a very good "free standing" basket, however it is a great hanging basket. My only complaint is that the parts provided to hang the basket were lacking. A few screws were sent with the basket for hanging, but there isn't really a place to screw anything in. We would have had to leave the screw hanging out of the wall to hang the basket on. We ended up getting a bracket to secure two screws on either side over the metal piece below the top basket.

Im more than happy with the purchase. Its a little over 3 feet high and saves me a significant amount of floor space where the prior fruit & vegetable baskets were. Speaking of which, this will also stand up on the floor, but you'll need to secure it with a screw at the top. White screws came with the purchase, but I used my own. The baskets are large (contrary to other reviews that made me almost second guess my purchase..glad I went ahead and bought this!) Once mounted on wall, the baskets stick out about 7 inches. The baskets are deep and wide and not a problem for me to get a lot of produce in or out of. I have medium and large potatoes in the bottom basket and there's room for more. Buy this for both style & function.

I really like this. I have had it for a while and it is perfect in my kitchen to hold my onions, small potatoes and such. It would be perfect for a lot of different things. I would order more, but I do not have anything else to use one for. They are just that cute and functional! I do believe you would have to secure them someway though. Does not stand well on it's own.

Everything the description described, however the openings are a bit narrow making it difficult to put fruit, onions, etc. in. Also there is a small piece of the outer coating that was chipped off when it arrived.

I bought this to store fruits and veggies. It does the job! My only complaint is that the top tier is a bit hard to put my hand in. I suspect this is because we hung it high on the wall.
