Barranca High Speed Wet Air Grinder

This grinder is really great. It's powerful, has a nice water feed and handles most tasks effortlessly. I don't cut stone with air tools but I do just about everything else with it. I found that the exhaust hoses aren't really that great if you are modifying the inlet hoses. I decided not to use the standard hoses that come with it (one too rigid, the other too soft) so i replaced them with other hoses I did like. I ended up using the blue alpha exhaust hoses that come with the 658 polishers and that reduce the noise a significant amount. All in all a great tool.I just wanted to mention that the other 1 star review is referring to some sort of electric grinder because air grinders do not have brushes.

I had my Barranca wet grinder for a couple months, and had put less than 10 hours use on it, when it quit working. On investigation I found that the motor brushes had already worn out. I contacted the dealer from whom I had purchased the product, who told me that had been a problem with this model. He was able, after a long time, to obtain new brushes for me. I installed the new brushes, and the motor worked again for about 2 hours, at which point it completely disintegrated, cracking the case.Because of the wait for the brushes, and the fact that I did not use the unit during the winter, it had been over a year since I bought the grinder. Barranca Diamond would not consider a replacement, told me it was only warranted for a year.I've spoken with two people who have had the same experience with this grinder, although one of them was luckily enough to get it replaced before the (short) warranty expired. Really a big disappointment.
