This open system Rain/Water Sensor can be reprogrammed by an ISP programmer. Every part can be moved on the breadboard to achieve other functionality. In current configuration it reaches to detect water/rain in intervals of 10 seconds. If there is water between the connector/wires detected, it flashed and beeps. Wires several hundred feet long can be connected to the connector terminals. The current drawn is very low. With a battery capacity of 150mAh it should be possible to let it run for more than a year.
